Brief Introduction of Vaidya Pandit Sri Gangadhar Sharma Tripathi

The rich traditions of Sanskrit literature and Ayurveda have been endowed by the selfless service motives of great personalities of our country. The name of Acharya Gangadhar Sharma Tripathi is written in the golden letters among those eminent personalities in the field of Sanskrit Literature and Ayurveda. The 'Ayurveda Ratna' Acharya Tripathi was born to the only son of prominent scholar of Dharmashastra's pradhanacharya Pt. Yamuna Prasad Tripathi on the occasion of Magha Shukla paksha Samvat 1977 or on the auspicious day of 15th January 1920 of english calender. The elementary education of Pt. Tripathi ‘started’ in pure traditional fashion of the education of the family and started the formal education after the sacred Upanayan Sanskara at the age of 5 years and joined Lokmanya Brahmachary ashram located at Gannipur (Muzaffarpur, Bihar). He learned Shlokas of Sanskrit and numerous Vedic mantras during the continuous formal learning of education for 12 years and remain followed the Brahmacharya life style during his formal education. Then he joined famous Dharma Samaj Sanskrit college, Muzaffarpur where He completed the courses of Acharya in various subjects like Ayurveda, Veda, Dharmashastra, Purana, Sahitya & Vyakaran and secured first place and achieved six gold medals in all these subjects. Acharya Tripathi then appointed at various positions like Professor, Head of the department, and Principal in Dharmasamaj Sanskrit college Muzaffarpur and Government Sanskrit college, Bhagalpur and continuously served for almost 36 years. After the retirement He was honored with Eminent Professor and Shastra Chudamani by the Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit University, Darbhanga. Acharya Tripathi had learned and practiced Ayurveda under the expert guidance of the India fame Vaidya Pt.Prasiddha Narayan Chaturvedi, Pt. Bhairav Giri and others. He acquired top most position in Bihar and again awarded with gold medals. He had greatly contributed in the establishment of Department of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic college at Dharma Samaj Sanskrit College and Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit University respectively. He had incomparably contributed as the member of Senate, Syndicate, Academic Council, and Board of Examination at the Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit university. He was conferred with numerous awards by his majesty Governor, and various institutions at Baunshi and Saurath for his great contributions in the field of Ayurveda and Sanskrit. The family tradition of the contribution to Ayurveda and Sanskrit is still being carried forward by his four sons and grandsons. The soil of our country has rare such generational contributors in the field of Sanskrit and Ayurveda. Acharya Tripathi departed with his holy body and went to heaven on the Kartik Harishayani Ekadashi in 2054 Vikram Samvat. The Bihar branch of Vishwa Ayurved Parishad has decided to organise essay competition at graduate level in the memory of the great contribution of the Acharya Gangadhar Tripathi for the upliftment, conservation, development and circulation of Ayurveda in the year 2020. It is humbly being expected the special contributions of the entire scholars of Sanskrit, Ayurveda and other great and eminent educationist and great personalities.

Rules: (1) All undergraduate students of Ayurveda are eligible to participate in essay competition including internees. (2) Essay should be on:

A4 sheet Single sided Font-Kruti Dev 10, Size- 12, Spacing- 1.5, Ms Word format Submitted in the three copies.

(3) Language Hindi- English and Sanskrit or mixed as per necessity having not more than 2000 words. (4) Last page of essay should have details of the participant viz. Name, Academic

year, Name of college/Institute, Address for Correspondence, Email & Contact number.

(5) Last date for submission: 15th September 2020. (6) Candidates should send the essay duly forwarded by the Principal/ HOD of

college/ institute.

Evaluation Process 1) Esteemed panel of Judges will evaluate the sent essays. 2) Decision of the panel will be final and binding on participants.

Award Selected Essays will attract under mentioned honour.

Consolation prizes will be also awarded to 7 candidates. The selected essay will also
