contained in it. This guarantees reliable and safe operation of this product and your plant respectively.

Please note that an incorrect application of the process components may lead to great material damages

and personal injury.

In case of damages caused by non observance of this instruction manual, incorrect initiation,

handling or external interference, guarantee and warranty will lapse!

Our products are produced, mounted and tested with high diligence. However, if there is still a reason

for complaint, we will naturally try to give you entire satisfaction within the scope of our warranty. We will

be at your disposal also after expiration of the warranty. In addition, you will also find all necessary instruc-

tions and spare part data for maintenance in this instruction manual. If you don't want to carry out the main-

tenance by yourself, our KIESELMANN service team will naturally be at your disposal.

5. Safety instructions5.1 Field of applicationThe angle flow control valve is used for the regulation of liquid media in the food and beverage industry,in pharmaceutical and chemical engineering, as well as in bio-engineering.

6. Function6.1 Functional descriptionThe valve is operated by means of a digital electro-pneumatic positioner. The positioner forms a closedcircuit loop together with the lift drive and the valve. The lift position defines the actual value which isrecorded by a potentiometer. A proportional position is controlled with the specified target value (4-20mA). During the regulating process, the target value is constantly compared to the actual value; anyregulating deviations are corrected. The micro-controller regulator allows an automatic zero and liftalignment and automatic commissioning.

ATTENTION• To avoid danger and damage, the fitting must be used in accordance with the safety instructions

and technical data contained in the operating instructions.

DANGER• Dismantling the valve or valve assemblies from the plant can cause injuries from fluids or gases

flowing out.Dismantle the valve or valve assembly only when the plant has been rendered pressure-less and free of liquid and gas.

• Due to the pneumatic action, the piston moved in the closing position can crush or amputate limbs.Do not reach into the housing after the pneumatic installation.

• When dismantling the clamp coupling the spring pre-stressed valve insert can cause injury due to a lifting movement in the “X“ direction (Fig. 5 /page 12).First open valve pneumatically, then unscrew the clamp coupling.

ATTENTION• To avoid air leaking, only use pneumatic connection parts that have an O-ring seal facing the even

surface.• When mounting the clamps, the max. torque must not be exceeded (see technical Data).• Steps should be taken to ensure that no external forces are exerted on the fitting and drive attach-

ments.

NOTE• All data are in line with the corrent state of development. Subject to change as a result of technical

progress.

7. Installation informations7.1 Installation instructionsAny installation position is possible, however preferably it should be installed vertically. Non-verticalinstallation means that the outflow pipes must be arranged to allow the liquids to run freely out of thecasing.

7.2 Welding guidelinesSealing elements integrated in weld components must generally be removed prior to welding. To pre-vent damage, welding should be undertaken by certified personnel (EN287). Use the TIG (tungsteninert gas) welding process.

8. Maintenance8.1 MaintenanceThe maintenance intervals depend on the operating conditions "temperature, temperature-intervals,medium, cleaning medium, pressure and opening frequency". We recommend replacing the sealsevery 1 years. The user, however should establish appropriate maintenance intervals according to thecondition of the seals.

ActuatorThe actuator is maintenance-free and non-removable.

8.2 CleaningThe cleaning is performed with the pipe cleaning system when the valve is opened.

NOTEIn general, the flow direction should be in the X direction (Fig. 5 /page 12).

NOTEImpurities can cause damage to the seals. Clean inside areas prior to assembly.

Disassembly / Assembly - Flow control valve manual operation9.1 Disassembly• Unscrew the retaining clamp (5) and remove the valve insert from the housing.• Unsrew the thump screw (24) and remove the disc (23), lever (22) and the disc (21).• Unsrew headless pin (15) and remove the casing cover (13).• Screw off the piston (2b) from the spindle (18) (SW/B2).• Unsrew the hexagon screw (17) and remove the bush (16).• Remove the insert (3), seal (D4) and bearing bush (4) from the piston (2b).• Slide off insert (3) with bearing bush (4), Seal (D4) and O-ring (D3) in opposite direction to the valve

side of the piston's (2b) valve disc.• Dismantle O-ring (D3).• Unscrew cone (1) from piston (2b) and develop the O-rings (D1) and (D2).

9.2 Assembly• Thoroughly clean and slightly lubricate mounting areas and running surfaces.

• Assemble the thread connection G1 with removable screw retention. (e.g. Loctite 243) . • Assemble in reverse order.

10. Disassembly / Assembly - Flow control valve pneum. operation

10.1 Disassembly - pneumatical valve insert• Please note the drawing (Fig. 3 /page 10).• Remove air pipe from the plug connection (12) and connect the air pipe from the compressed air

network.• Pneumatically open the valve via the pneumatic connection (12).• Unscrew the retaining clamp (5) and remove the valve insert from the housing.• Vent the actuator (13) via the pneumatic connection (12). Attention the valve goes back into the basic

position by means of spring tension.• Remove air pipe from the plug connection (12).

10.2 Disassembly - Constructional unit Bürkert positionerPlease note the drawing (Fig. 2 /page 9).

• Switch the electrical lines in de-energized condition. remove the air connections from the positioner.• Unscrew screws (B13), remove the positioner (B1) and the seal (B6).• Unscrew screws (B12) and remove the adapter (B9) with O-ring (B10).• Unscrew the spindle adapter (B8) with spindle (B7) and sensor (B5). (SW17)

10.3 Disassembly - Exchanging seals „A“ Pos. (D1), (D2), (D3), (D4) (D5).• Dismantle the valve insert according 10.1 /page 8 (Disassembly valve insert).• Dismantle the positioner according 10.2 /page 8 (Disassembly constructional unit).• Unscrew piston (2a) from piston rod (22) (SW17/Ø8).• Slide off insert (3) with bearing bush (4), Seal (D4) and O-ring (D3) in opposite direction to the valve

side of the piston's (2a) valve disc.• Dismantle O-ring (D3).• Unscrew cone (1) from piston (2a) and develop the O-rings (D1) and (D2).• Replace seals and wearing parts.

NOTEPuncture the O-ring (D2) at the centre with a pointed tool and remove them carefully from the groove.

NOTEAlternately press and roll the seal (D2) into the groove with round body.

NOTEThe fittings are supplied as a completely assembled unit. Electrical triggering is not required to disas-semble the actuator.In order to obtain the minimal wear and tear on seals and seal faces, first tighten the lantern - casingflange connection and then the lantern - actuator screw connection. The seal can thereby align optimallywith the seal face.

NOTEPuncture the O-ring (D2) at the centre with a pointed tool and remove them carefully from the groove.

10.4 Disassembly - Exchanging seals „B“ Pos. (D5).• Dismantle according 10.3 /page 8 (Exchanging seals „A“).• Remove screw (6) and dismount the lantern (7) with insert (9).• Screw off the thread connection (G2) [piston rods (11) / spindle (14)] at the spanner surfaces and

axially remove the piston rod (11) and spindle (14) from the actuator (13).• Replace the O-ring (D5) (2x).

10.5 Assembly• Thoroughly clean and slightly lubricate mounting areas and running surfaces.

• Assemble the thread connection G1 and G2 with removable screw retention. (e.g. Loctite 243) . • Assemble in reverse order.

10.6 Assembly pneumatical valve insert• Unscrew socket head cap screw (6) but not completely!• Connect air pipe from compressed air network to pneumatic connection (12).• Pneumatically operate actuator (13) via connection (12).• ATTENTION! The piston is moving. Please note the safety instructions!• Mount the valve insert centrical into the housing.• Tighten down the clamp coupling (5).• Tighten socket head cap screw (6).• Vent the actuator (13) via the pneumatic connection (12). Valve closes by means of spring tension.• Remove air pipe from compressed air network from pneumatic connection (12) and connect the air

pipe from the positioner on the connection (12) again.• Connect pneumatic and electrical wires to the electro-pneumatic positioner in accordance with con-

nection plan.• Check the valve functions.
