Hello and welcome to Dream Big, Imagine Florida! The Orlando Metro Secon is pleased to host the APA Florida Annual Conference in Orlando! We will be meeng September 8-11, 2020 at the Hilton on Desnaon Parkway in Orlando. Located in an ideal locaon, within walking distance of the internaonal tourist aracons along I-Drive and centrally located to the City Beauful, Kissimmee, Sanford, the Villages and other growing Central Florida cies, there will be opportunies to discover the best Central Florida has to offer. Spectacular internaonal aracons that have made the area a world- class desnaon include Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Kennedy Space Center. We are also home to a wide array of iconic preserves and state parks, from the Orlando Wetland Preserve to Wekiwa Springs State Park, there are plenty of oak hammock trails and cypress-lined waterbodies to explore and appreciate. The Orlando Metro Secon is comprised of Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Sumter Counes. Our municipalies range from rural communies to urban cies including bustling downtown transit-oriented cores, quaint main street villages, and a growing locavore culture with agriculture pracces that support community identy, sustainability, resiliency and economic vitality. The region is a strong economic engine focused on tourism, cultural and historic preservaon, technology, manufacturing, distribuon/logiscs, and retail. This regional planning area confronts many of the same topics reflected throughout the state including the integraon of technology in planning, natural disaster readiness, environmental jusce, economic development obstacles, affordable housing, mobility and mass transit, and the search for innovave urban or rural design. This year we call on you to Dream Big and Imagine Florida! We are looking for dynamic and interesng session proposals that will facilitate future ready cies. CONFERENCE SESSION SUBMITTAL PRACTICE FORM:Please complete Sections A-L below as practice before you complete and submit it online at bit.ly/fpc20form. The online form can’t be saved. All online forms must be received by no later than 5 pm ET on April 8, 2020.

Non-members (e.g.: community members, public officials, and auxiliary professionals) are not required to register to participate on a panel.

1. Designed to meet a specific planning related training objective; 2. Is non-promotional in nature; 3. Communicates a clearly identified educational purpose or objective, uses learning methodologies and formats that are appropriate to the activity’s educational purpose or objectives; 4. Designed to address demonstrated educational needs;5. If you intend for your session CM activities to fulfill the ethics requirement, providers must demonstrate that the content of the activities is related to the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct; and6. If you intend for your session CM activities to fulfill the law requirement, providers must demonstrate that the content of the activity is related to planning law. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, topics such as environmental law, land use law, redevelopment law, administrative and housing law.
