INTRODUCTIONFloralife is introducing a revolutionary solution, TempChek, for monitoring product temperature as flowers move through the cold supply chain. TempChek features a thin, flexible, disposable data temperature logger that can be read with an Android NFC enabled compliant smartphone or tablet. It provides cost-effective, high accuracy temperature monitoring without the need for expensive industrial data collection equipment and without a USB connection.

The solution utilizes a technology you may not be familiar with, NFC.

WHAT IS NFC?• At its most basic level, near field communication is a standard for very short-range radio transmission.

How short are we talking about? A pair of NFC transmitters can communicate at a maximum of just a few centimeters.• When compatible NFC devices are held in close proximity, a coupling of devices occurs and a radio

communication connection is established. This allows passing data from one device to another. • This requires at least one transmitting device (tag), and another to receive the signal (smartphone or tablet).• Let’s run a quick test to see if your device is NFC enabled. Ø Go to the Google Play Store and download the free “Near Field NFC Tester” application (also called an “app”).• This app will test if your device has NFC capabilities, and if the NFC functionality on the device is

turned-on/enabled. Ø Launch the Tester app and it well tell you about the NFC on your device
