UN Relief & Recovery Assistance• Population Supported: 250,000 – 300,000

• Total Assistance: USD 4.56 million

• Assistance Period: Aug ‘14 – Dec ’15

• Food: Micronutrient fortified biscuits to people taken shelter on embankments

• Cash: Unconditional Cash Transfers @ BDT 9,000/HH to women via mobile phones

• NFI: Family Kit (Kitchen utensils, share, lungi, bucket, candle etc)

• Shelter: Flood resilient house & provision of water supply and sanitation facilities

• Education: Educational Kits

• Health: Emergency medical services (treatment)

• Reproductive Health: Clean Delivery kits for safe delivery of pregnant women

• Livelihood: Capacity building for livelihood and access to funds

• NFI: Kitchen Utensils, Sharee (women ware), Lungi (men ware), Mosquito Net, Candle, Matches etc.

• Shelter: Cash for Shelter Kits @ BDT 3000/HH through MMT

• WASH: Standard Hygiene Kits, Safe water distribution, Tube well repairing, Latrine installation/repair

• Population Supported: 375,000

• Total Assistance: USD 3.9 million

• Assistance Period: Aug – Dec ‘14

Lessons Learnt

Assessment: i) Union level D form completion & collection took time, no validation sought

from the Governmentii) Triggering mechanism for assessment needs to be transparent, predictable &

timely Approvals: Opportunity to make it more context appropriate and responsive

(FC1/FD6/FD7)Beneficiary Selection: Involvement of local officials important but took timeFunding: Insufficient resources compared to the needField Level Coordination: District Focal Point System not yet established for

better response coordinationMoney Withdrawal from Mobile Account: Beneficiaries face problems for

timely withdrawal
