• Perth will receive 30 new DC charging sites with 2 x minimum 50kw Chargers at each site

• A/C Chargers Home / Public/ Destination chargers7KW –22KW Level 2 Charging Fast

• DC Fast Chargers 50KW- 350KW. Perth has 50KW (RAC Highway) Level 3 Charging – Ultra Fast

• Limiting factor to the speed of charge is the onboard charger

Difference between AC and DC Charging

• The electricity Grid supplies power as AC,

• An EV has an onboard charger to convert AC power to DC

• DC chargers converts power from AC to DC before it reaches the vehicle,

Charging for Fleets & Workplace

• 7kw charging is ample for Fleets & WorkPlace Charging

• Where multiple vehicles are required to be charged, “Dynamic Load Management” is a must.

• Smart Procurement will play a critical role, in the Success Ev Charging.

Public Charging• Rule of thumb ‘Range added per 10 mins

– equal to the charger output’

• Public EV Charging is a Top Up to get to your destination.

• Data from over 3000 charging sessions, average charge time is 26 mins and add 13kwh

Charging Considerations

• The project isn’t over once the equipment is installed.

• To Achieve utopia requires the industry to talk and not act in silos.

• Exemption from energy retailers licensecurrently for the sale of electricity.
