Start

Starting in the village, walk south-west down the hill past the Cemetery to the junction. The walk starts here. All gates have yellow way-markers. Go straight across the road to the kiss gate and into the field.

The path goes south-west towards Isle Abbotts. To start with follow the line of the hedge and then, about half way across the field, keep walking in the same

direction towards the small gate. The path is easy to see as other walkers have gone that way.

At the small gate, head south, taking a diagonal path across the field. Once again, the path is clear to see and the way-marker points in the right direction.

The next gate leads onto a small wooden bridge across a ditch. Cross the bridge and follow the path in a south-westerly direction towards Fivehead River.

Walk along the river bank as far as the bridge across the river. There is a lovely view of the river from the bridge. Take care when climbing over the metal bars at either end of the bridge. (W7.1)

On the other side of the river, turn left and follow the river bank until you reach a small wooden gate.

Continue to follow the river until you reach a metal gate for walkers next to two large metal gates. Please use the small gate to access the next field. Note: there may be cattle in this field.

Continue to follow the river until Isle Moor Road (the road between Isle Brewers and Fivehead). Turn left, cross the stone bridge over Fivehead River. (W7.2)

Follow the road towards Fivehead until the junction. (W7.3) Turn left and walk past Isle Moor Works (Matravers). Continue to the next junction which is where the walk began.
