2. Why is it so hard to change them? Because I’ve had them so ____________. Because I ___________ with them. Because they have a ________________. Because _____________ discourages me when I try to change. 3. How do I focus on letting God change my life? Focus on changing one __________ at a time. “Sensible people keep their eyes glued on
wisdom.” Proverbs 17:24 Focus on _________ power and not ________ power. “I can do all things through Christ
who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 4. Focus on _____________ good not feeling good. “Live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” Galatians 5:16 5. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilot, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the for-giveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

DISCUSSION SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS INFORMATION: We came to a decision last Sunday, November 4, 2018 that due to so few members (5 with the teacher, sometimes 2) we are disbanding the class. If enough people would become interested to begin this class again, we, the present members and teachers, would be more than happy to begin the class again. We have always had a great time studying the scriptures together. We would like to thank each and every teacher who has taught the Discussion Class through the years.
EAST JASPER CHRISTIAN FOOD PANTRY: As you begin to make plans for all the wonderful celebrations you have during Thanksgiving and Christmas, the East Jasper Christian Food Pantry would ask you to think of families that won’t have the same vision of a festive dinner with all the trimmings. Perhaps your family would like to donate a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal to a family in need. The cost of that meal is around $25.00 and would include the following items: Turkey or Ham, Biscuits, dressing, margarine, 2 gravy, cake mix, boxed potatoes, frosting, fruit juice, crackers, canned corn, beans & fruit, cheese, noodles, eggs and jello. If you are interested in expressing your Christian love by donating $25 to East Jasper Christian Food Pantry to provide a Thanks-giving or Christmas meal to a family in need, please contact Julie Dunsbergen at 641-521-1175.

Phase 2—Sanctuary Renovation Project The Consistory approved bringing the Phase 2 Sanctuary Renovation Project to a vote at the annual congregational meeting on November 11. Thus, it will be placed on the agenda with the support of the consistory. An approval of the project will allow the renova-tion of the sanctuary to take place. Guidelines for passage of the project were set at 60% of the ballots cast. Absen-tee ballots will be available from the church office on November 4 and need to be placed in the ballot box located in the church office before the meeting on November 11. Only signed absentee ballots will be accepted. The estimated cost of the project is approximately $600,000. No outside funds will be borrowed. A breakdown of the funding the project will be published in following bulle-tins. A list of Phase 2 improvements and explanation of the improvements can be found on line on the church’s website at http://sullyfrc.org/resources/phase-2-sanctuary-remodel/ and on the west wall of the Gathering Place. We want to thank the Phase 2 Committee for their hard work in putting this plan together starting this journey in January 2017. Committee members: Rita Vos, Josh Ro-zendaal, Diana Scandridge, Sheryl Baarda, Brad Rozendaal, Tim Dunsbergen, Kendall Rozendaal - Chairman Let us bathe this vote in prayer and rely on the Lord to discern our hearts and mo-tives! Proverbs 16:1-3 “We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
Phase 2 (Sanctuary renovation) Financial Package The cost of this proposed project is approximately $600,000. The financing of this project will be accomplished by designating $365,000 of the Veldhuizen gift to the Building Fund and $8,792 from a designated Vande Krol annuity. The current balance of the Build-ing fund ($50,291.78) will be applied to the balance of $226,983 leaving $175,917 as an outstanding balance on the remaining project. We will use funds from the General church account ($175,917) to pay down the difference until funds are raised through our Building Fund to pay back the General account. Bottom line, the congregation is being asked to fund $175,917 of the project. If Phase 2 does not pass, $180,000 still will be paid to the Building fund from the Veldhuizen gift to pay for needed repairs to the current church facility.
