Intentional Service!
Jesuit Volunteer EnCorps (JV EnCorps), an ecumenical program of
JVC Northwest, facilitates transformative opportunities for value-
centered service, community and spiritual formation for older
adults committed to social and ecological justice. During their ten
months of part-time volunteer service, participants ages 50 and
older meet together regularly in community, deepen their
spirituality, and explore the values of simple living and social &
ecological justice. Priority application deadline: July 31th. For more
information, call 206.305.8911 or visit http://jvencorps.org to apply.
Attention all Catholic young men ages 13-18!
Do you know where your life is going? The Lord
Jesus has a great plan for you! You are invited to
attend Quo Vadis Days camp to spend time with
other young men your age looking at the Lord’s call
in your life while having a great time. QVD is led by
priests and seminarians of the Archdiocese.
Archbishop Sartain will join us on Monday to
celebrate Mass with the participants. QVD will be
held from June 28th-July 1st at Camp Don Bosco
near Carnation, WA. The cost of the camp will be
covered by the Serra Club. Please check us out at
www.qvdays.org if
you are interested.
All registration is
online!
PLEASE NOTE: We have implemented a new
procedures for receiving communion during the
summer months.
We ALL will receive communion at the
CENTER AISLE
If you are unable to process down the center aisle,
please let an usher know and a minister will bring
communion to you.
Due to the vacation schedules of our volunteers
we do not have as many ministers to
help distribute communion during the
summer.
Thank you for your understanding.

Catechism of the Catholic Church: A Sure Guide
Francis Cardinal Arinze energetically draws from his experience to
help us see the practical value of the
Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC)
today, which was given as a guide to living
our daily lives in accordance with Holy
Scripture and the Sacred Traditions that
have been passed down to the Church
through the Apostles. The CCC is intended for use by all Christian faithful, and Pope
John Paul II declared it to be "...a sure
norm for teaching the faith"- Fidei
Depositum.
PARISH NEWS
Sunday Coffee Hour will resume in September!
Because there are not enough volunteers during
the summer months, the Sunday Coffee Hour will
take a break and resume in the fall on September
6, 2015, when everyone has returned from their
summer activities.
We want to thank all who have so generously
volunteered for this ministry and hope that you
return refreshed and willing to volunteer again in
September.
Pope Francis & the World
Meeting of Families: There is
still time to register and join the
Archdiocesan pilgrimage to the
World Meeting of Families, Sept
22-27. The trip is filling up fast,
so act quickly if you want to see
Pope Francis in Philadelphia. The week-long Congress also
offers inspiring keynote speakers and dozens of timely
workshops. For complete information on how to register for
this exciting pilgrimage, visit www.seattlearchdiocese.org/wmf.
Neighbors helping Neighbors
Thank you for donating to your neighbors in need.
Often people are surprised about the diversity of the clientele at the
food bank. There is a pervasive myth that food banks primarily serve
people who find themselves homeless. While about 19% of the
individuals we serve do not have stable or permanent housing, a
significant number of our clients work part-time, full-time, or are
between jobs. 17% are under the age of 18 and 26% are seniors. A
client’s home may be a house, an apartment, a vehicle, or on the
street. To put it simply: our clients are our neighbors; neighbors who
are constantly expressing their gratitude and appreciation for our
donors an volunteers who make the services and resources of the
food bank possible.
We continue to find new ways to bring food and hope to our
neighbors. This school year we are serving 150 students each week
through our Weekend Food for Kids Program and are extending it
for the summer months to meet the needs of students during the
break.
There is a large box in the parish center to collect your non-
perishable items. Thank you.
