    INTUITIVE PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT

    Lecture One: ESP and Intuition

    WHAT IS INTUITION

Intuition is the, ability to understand

something immediately without the need for

    conscious reasoning. There are many

theories as to how it works, each one more

or less useful for certain situations, but they

are not ultimately important for the actual

    useof intuition.

    INTUITION CANNOT BE TAUGHT

You absolutely cannot learn to be intuitive,

but thats okay. The reason you cant learn it

is that you are alreadyintuitive. Whether

you consider intuition to be a psychological

process, a mystical gift, a byproduct of the

inherent unity of existence (my personal

favorite), or something else entirely, the fact

is that you are just as intuitive as anyone

else in he world. You are connected and

have potential access to all forms of

information, you simply need to learn tolisten more deeply to and understand your

    intuition.

    YOUR THREE MINDS

For the purposes of this topic, lets say you

have three minds: rational, emotional and

intuitive. All three minds, or aspects of th

one mind if you prefer, are necessary for a

developed and successful life and each has

    its own strengths and weaknesses.

Your intuitive mind is where it all starts. All

ideas start off as intuitions. These are the

a-ha moments where a plan or an idea

seems to spring directly into your

    awareness.

Once we have an intuition, of what we can

or should do for example, we engage our

rational mind in determining how to go

about acting on our intuition. The rational

mind helps weigh risk to benefit and

    construct a step-by-step plan.

Our emotional mind works throughout the

process by letting us know how we feel

about whats going on, what we are doing

and how we a doing it. It lets us know, for

example if a situation seems unfair to us

(making us angry) or if we are not being fair

    (making us feel guilty).

Obviously the interactions between the three

minds are far more fluid and overlapping

than described above, but hopefully this is a

useful breakdown of how the three areas ofmind work.

Difficulty often arises when people get

attached to one aspect of the mind, creating

a false center and ignoring the other

aspects. Many people try to be super-

rational in our society and wont allow

themselves to trust their emotions or

intuitions at all. Others swing the other

direction and dismiss rationality and linear

thinking; this makes them very emotionally

or intuitively aware, but sometimes theycant seem to tie their own shoes!

    THE FOUR PILLARS OF INTUITION

The four pillars of intuition are, in my opinion, all you really need to know to develop you

intuitive gifts. There are a lot of techniques out there, which I use and which I teach, but they

simply build on the foundation of the four pillars.

    PILLARE ONE: REALAX

The basic levels of relaxation can be

achieved by taking a deep breath, closing

your eyes and just letting all the tension in

your body drift away. If this is difficult at

first, you may want to try some exercise

before you relax (yoga is great) or learn one

    of the techniques mentioned below.

The key here is to eliminate all excess

mental and physical tension so that your

intuition can make its messages known toyou. Intuition generally manifests in body

feelings or mental images and if your body

is tense and your mind is racing, there will

either be no room for the message to come

through, or you simply wont recognize it.

There are many popular techniques for

learning how to relax effectively at the

    deeper levels, such as: yoga-nidra,

    progressive relaxation, autogenics, hypnosis

and more. I recommend that you learn one

or more of these techniques and practice itonce or twice a day for a month, at which

point you will be able to relax deeply at will.

    PILLAR TWO: NOTICE

    SYNCHRONICITY

Start keeping a synchronicity and intuition

journal, and paying attention to the

sychronicities that appear in your life. In a

very short time you will be amazed at the

amount of synchronicity that surrounds you

and, most importantly, you learn how youpersonally intuit things. This important step

is missed by a lot of people who think that

for real intuition they need to see or feel

things in a certain way. Learn whats right

    and what works for you.

    PILLAR THREE: LOOK FORSYMBOLS

This is almost an expansion of the last pillar

and helps you to increase you intuitive

vocabulary, so to speak. Once you have

    become comfortable relaxing and noticing

synchronicity it is time to let your intuition

    communicate more complex messages

    through symbols.

Many symbols are available, such as tarot

cards or astrology, but one of the easiestways is to lay on your back outside and stare

at the clouds (you can also stare at grassy

fields, or tree tops, or anything else) and let

symbols form. Dont try to analyze them

(thats your rational mind getting in the

way) just take note and analyze them later

(or ask your intuition to explain them for

    you!).

    PILLAR FOUR: SAY, THANK YOU

Yet another hidden secret. Every time youreceive an intuition say, thank you to your

intuitive mind. This is encouraging to your

intuit and lets it know that you appreciate

its messages and that you want more.

Saying thank you helps you to develop a

relationship with your intuitive mind that

will grow and blossom over time.
