Firetex; safe, versatile and efficientFiretex curtains are a highly flexible range of fire and smoke control products meeting the requirements of building

regulations and life safety systems. Designed for internal use, Firetex fabric curtains provide excellent fire resistance and

smoke arrest, are versatile and strong, whilst still being light and easy to operate. Fire curtains are suitable for both

industrial and commercial applications and are available for spans of up to 54 metres.

Firetex FC 2-4 hour fire curtain

Firetex fi re and smoke fabric curtains

have been designed and tested to give

fi re resistance, enhanced smoke

containment and radiant heat reduction.

Offering up to 4 hours fi re resistance, 2

hours smoke containment and an

optional insulating zone compliant with

BSI - PAS121:2007 (size restrictions apply), they

satisfy fi re strategy and life safety

requirements.

The system comprises an extended fi re

protection fabric curtain constructed

from composite stainless steel mesh and

woven glass fi bre mounted on to a steel

tubular barrel. The fi re curtain is housed

in a four sided galvanised head box

providing all round protection from fi re

attack. The steel weighted horizontal

bottom bar and full height side guides

are designed to prevent the curtain from

being forced open by any differential

pressures created during fi re alarm

conditions.

Operated and controlled via an integral

low voltage electric drive and motor

gearbox, with adjustable operating

speeds. A gravity fail safe closing system

gives controlled descent in the event of

total power loss, failure of the batteries

or a general system fault.

Designed for internal low cycle use,

curtains are normally left in the open

position, activating automatically in the

event of a fi re alarm signal. Suitable for

openings of up to 54 metres they offer

excellent escape options in the event of

a fi re.

Firetex fi re curtains meet British and

European standard BS EN 1634-1,

BS476-6, 7 & 22, BS7346-3 and

BSI - PAS121:2007.

Firetex FC Compact 2 hour fire curtain

The Firetex FC Compact fi re curtain is a

smaller version of the Firetex FC,

constructed and developed in the same

way, but specifi cally designed for smaller

applications giving 2 hours fi re

resistance, enhanced smoke

containment and radiant heat reduction.

The slim, lightweight, easy to install

curtain is suitable for openings of up to

3 metres. It is ideal for internal low cycle

usage in areas such as servery hatches

or doorways. On walk through apertures

Firetex FC Compact fi re curtains are

supplied with a multifunctional control

system which can accept a range of

additional plug in safety and activation

systems if required. A hygienic, easy

wipe surface and narrow channels

eliminates dust and grease traps.

Curtains are normally left in the open

position, activating automatically in the

event of a fi re alarm signal, however, an

extensive range of control options allows

the curtain to be opened and closed on a

daily basis.

Firetex FC Compact fi re curtains meet

The Firetex compact is supplied in a

standard polyester powder coat RAL

9010 white fi nish with optional colours
