A. PRE-EXISTING WARNING SIGNS

1. Typhoon

1.1 There are classifications of typhoon according to strength such as: tropical depression, tropical storm, typhoon and super typhoon.

1.2 I have knowledge regarding the meaning of public warning signals given by PAG-ASA such as: public storm warning signal #1, 2, 3, & 4.

1.3 I believe that when animals became highly disturbed and restless, typhoon will follow.

1.4 Sudden change of temperature of the environment is a sign that a typhoon will occur.

2. Earthquake

2.1 I have knowledge regarding the meaning of earthquake intensity scale given by PHIVOLCS from intensity 1-10.

2.2Sudden rise or fall of water level in the well means that earthquake will possibly occur.

2.3 When well water turns muddy, it means that earthquake is approaching.

2.4 Sudden and rapid increase or decrease water flow in the river indicates that earthquake will occur.

3. Tsunami

3.1 A very strong earthquake along the coast is a sign that tsunami will occur.

4.3 Construction of heavy structures over unstable land slope will cause landslide.

5. Flood

5.1 Heavy rainfall for a short period of time will cause flooding.

5.2 High tides with corresponding heavy rainfall will result to flooding.

1.1 Occurrence of lightning is possible which can cause death, injuries and can spark fires

1.2 Typhoon can cause destruction to livelihood and properties.

2.1 Earthquake can cause destruction of bridges, elevated concrete structures and can cause loss of lives.

2.2 Changes in river path are possible result of earthquake.

2.3 Series of earthquakes can cause cracks on highways, lands and houses.

3. Tsunami

3.1 Tsunami can cause loss of lives and destruction of properties.

3.2 People living near the coastline areas are greatly affected.

3.3 It can cause sudden flooding.

4. Landslides

4.1 Landslides can take lives of people living near unstable land slopes.

5.3 Flood can cause broken electricity, water, gas and telephone lines.

1.2 Provide accurate information and instructions to the civilian populace in the forthcoming calamities arising from natural or normal causes through mass media.

1.3 Release public announcements regarding weather conditions.
