10) Why you choose this ERP?PeopleSoft is a highly popular and robust HRMS tool as it has a very powerful rule engine through which complex formulae, approvals routing and third party integrations can be done. The product is highly configurable and, hence, customizations can be kept to the minimum. Important statutory rules are also embedded in this product in the country extensions that it offers with all its sub modules. Hence, regularly updating the product can ensure compliance. The HRMS tool has evolved based extensive research with contemporary organizations and by adopting best of line solution.

14) Is there any complexity in using ERP??Yes. If the business of the client is completely out of sync with what PeopleSoft has provided then there will be a lot of customizations which is not recommended. User resistance to change is another challenge in implementing an ERP.

15) Was it a phased out approach or a big bang approach?It was a phased out approach in terms of locations but a big bang approach in terms of the modules that were implemented.

16) How was the implementation of this ERP?

21) Can u compare between the functions (Manual Process) carry out in the organization before and after the installation of ERP?Please refer point 17. Other differences being the time consumed to cary out tasks is much less with using ERP.

22) What was the financial impact made by ERP installation on the organization?Initial costs might be high, that is, installation, support contract, resource cost, training cost etc. but sustained use of ERP can help reduce costs. It’s a good long terms solution.

23) What are the technologies related to ERP?PeopleSoft, Orapps, SAP, JD Edwards, Taleo, Ramco, Blueshift are some of the ERP tools. The technology involves, SQL, Oracle database, Unix, Crystal reporting, SQR etc.

24) Are there any updates made in the system after the installation i.e How ERP overcomes disadvantage of manual process?Human process is error prone and time consuming. Else refer to point 17

25) Name of the product for which ERP is used??PeopleSoft in our case and the function being HR.

26) In which department that product is being used??This is a repeat of point 2

27) Overview of ERP in that Department.

28) Is there any testing or training required for ERP?? If Yes , than for how long ???Yes. Generally the vendor will impart training to the customer. In case self learning is desired then there are designated Oracle based testing centers in the country which impart training and also arrange for a certification subsequently. The training time depends on the number of modules to be learnt. The basic training with span roughly 2 months.

32) What are the support & maintenance for ERP??The product owner will provide support and maintenance. For example, Oracle in case of PeopleSoft, OrApps and JD Edwards. Regular updates and patches are available with the user.
