Objective

To Design Efficient & Cost Effective Hybrid Renewable power generation & utilization System

Define the thrust of a new program in Pakistan

Stimulate innovative thinking that leads to creative business opportunities

Encourage benefits of hybrid system

Page 5: Final presentation

Introduction

Source of renewable power . Harvest kinetic energy and convert it into usable

power .Fastest growing source of generationHome grown industryWind energy is used for pump water and grind grains

Page 6: Final presentation

Introduction

Radiant light and heat from the sunWe use solarpanals to collect heat energy from sun

rays.Provide electricity for homes, business applications on

small, medium or large scales.

Problem statement

Some of the problems are…

Load shedding (today’s big issue) Limited resources Fuel cost Environmental hazards

Page 8: Final presentation

Problem solution

By making this project we solve the load shedding problem . Because when WAPDA supply is not available then this system will work.

We have limited resources such as oil and natural gas. But in this project we do not have limited resources because wind and solar energy are not limited sources.

In our country cost of fuel is very high and it is not in huge quantity so that we can not afford fuel. So by making this project we are able to save fuel.

Purpose

To resolve energy crises

Cost effectiveness

Energy is taken by natural resources no environmental hazard are involved

Lower reliance on natural gas and furnace oil

Project Modules

Main resources of our project are :Solar panelWind turbine &Wapda (just for backup)

Others modules are:Hybrid Charge controllerBatteryInverter

Solar panel

Solar panel consist of solar cells. Solar cell or photovoltaic cell (PV), is a device that converts light into electric current using the photoelectric effect.

Capacity: Power=150 wattVoltage=12vCurrent~ 7 to 12.5amp

Wind Turbine(HAWT)

Horizontal axis wind turbine is the turbine in which the axis of rotation is parallel to the free stream wind velocity and the ground. This is the most common wind turbine design. HAWT works on the principle of lift phenomena, drag is the unwanted force in this designSpecs:

Battery

A battery is a device consisting of one or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energyMostly used for storing purpose.

Capacity: Voltage: 12vCurrent:80amps/hrExide(company)

Page 21: Final presentation

Inverter

Inverter, is an electrical power converter that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC)

Capacity: 500 WATTS

Page 22: Final presentation

LOAD

AC LOAD:Fan =80 Watt For 4 Hours

Energy Savor=18 Watt For 4 HoursDC LOAD:

Dc lights= 20 watt for 4 hours

Page 23: Final presentation

In our country load shedding is a major issue. So that this project is applicable in various ways

E.g:

This project is feasible for charging batteries in vehicles operating on long routes

Applications

Industry:

By doing generation on large scale we can use this hybrid system in industrial areas

Page 26: Final presentation

Applications (continue)

On ships:On ships hybrid system is very successful because when ships moves then they can get lot of wind & they can also accessible to sunlight

Conclusion

It will increase countries’ energy security through reliance on an indigenous, inexhaustible and mostly import-independent resource, enhance sustainability, reduce pollution, lower the costs of mitigating climate change, and keep fossil fuel prices lower than otherwise.
