“people in the rap industry.

Lyrical catches up with B-Star Roy as he preps for the new release of ‘In the Game’. This is his first release under the ‘Big Money Records’ label, which is run by Ice-Cube and K-Dee who were both part of the C.I.A hip-hop group. (The duo also manage 50 Cent who produced a track called “ Highlight Reel” for In the Game.)

Kanye called you a “Fake ass with no meaning” because of your catch-phrases and the way you bill yourself as the “Fresh Kid on the Block” What do you make of Kanye’s com-ments?Kayne was my idol growing up as kid, and I have a lot of respect for him, he was the one I always used to listen to as kid. With no disrespect to him, my catchphrases are a part of me and my music, that’s what make’s me different from the rest. At the end of the day hater’s are going to hate.

What was it like collaborating with 50 Cent, and him producing a track for your album?Working with 50 was a once in a lifetime opportunity; I learned new things from a respected person in

the industry. All I can say about 50 producing his new track is that the beat rocks!!! It’s like my kind of jam, which come across in my lyrics. 50 is a legend and he’s one hell of a guy.

You’ve talked about your rough up-bringing, but what does it feel like to make it to the top? When you’re growing up in the hood living life in the estates, seeing con-stant knifes and guns being flashed around like their some toys it makes you tougher. My upbringing was rough, my Mum always used to say to me “ You got to look after yourself all the time, this is a scary world.” My mother was my rock growing up and I won’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for her. Making it to the top, as you folk like to call it, was hard work, I used to spit up my own bars in my bedroom every night before bed. Having come from the unknown to working with the likes of 50 Cent, it feels like God has answered all my prayers. I’m grateful for my upbringing, as my patience has been rewarded. I’d also like to give a special shout out to my mentor for helping turning me into the man I am now.

Which will be under the record label ‘Big Money Records” His new album is expected to cause a major stir in the music industry. Expectations for his release are sky high, known for his witty catch phrases and punch lines in his verses. B-Star Roy has gone from being an unknown kid on the block to the next big thing. In his own words he’s made it from “ Angry kid with fear to hungry and motivated.” Whether he is a “ Fake ass with no meaning” as (Kanye West publicly dubbed him) or not. No other artist in the past year has worked as hard as B-Star Roy has, in winning over the hearts of the
