final booklet made
DESCRIPTION
Final booklet of the Comenius project MADE (Music Advantages in the Diversity of Europe)TRANSCRIPT
1
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The wide thematic areas of the project "Music Advantages in
the Diversity of Europe" included cultural elements, local, national and
international music and songs as well as artistic and folklore traditions
of the countries . All these have led to the acquaintance and mutual
understanding of the students and teachers involved in the project and to
the promotion of each country's unique cultural heritage. During the
project the students, through research, analysis and presentation of
different genres of music, have broaden their horizons, expanding their
knowledge and enhancing their perception of cultural differences. Each
school has contributed to topics concerning their music tradition and
their own approach to popular music. We have had stages of research,
source search, collection, evaluation and classification of material. The
finals products include DVDs, music creations, school newspapers with
the collected material. All the materials were uploaded on our website,
http://gym-mous-spart.lak.sch.gr/comenius/index.html , designed to
inform the participating schools and other people interested in the
project about the achievements and experiences.
During the first year, the activities were established in
popular/modern music and dances (different genres, preferences,
writing songs, creation of songs). The second year, was dedicated to
traditional music (musicians, kinds, instruments).
We were 250 students and teachers involved in the mobilities,
during the project, and 6 local communities participated in the good
implementation of the project.
We are a part of Europe, we are THE M.A.D.E. family.
2
AIM OF THE PROJECT
… was to enhance the importance and the wealth of multiculturalism in
the modern world in order to prevent the risks of total globalization and
the standardization of cultural models. The concrete objectives were:

involved.
- to get a deeper understanding of the contribution of music to the socio-
cultural development of each country and of European unity.
- to fight xenophobia and discover the common roots in each country's
music throughout the years.
- to develop communication skills in English both in written as well as
in spoken form.
- to improve teaching and learning methods in the subjects of English,
Music and IT.
- to increase the quality of education through the exchange of
experiences and the teachers' activation.
- to enhance independence in learning
- to promote the results of work
- to use music software, make online presentations, make use of all
means of online instruments
- to have a positive attitude concerning problems in society
- to improve team working activities
- to get to know cultural diversity of Europe, developing cognitive
curiosity among the project participants, getting to know tourist values
of regions

One of our songs! Thank you Mr Goldman for these amazing lyrics !!!!!
(They seem to have been written specially for our Comenius Project !)
JE TE DONNE
I can give you a voice, bred with rhythm and soul, the heart of a Welsh boy who's lost his home.
Put it in harmony, let the words ring, Carry your thoughts in the songs we sing
Southino tis notès, southino tis lexis, ya na ynoun taxithi to rithmo nathialexis.
I can give you the force of my ancestral pride The will to go on when I'm hurt deep inside
Whatever the feeling, whatever the way It helps me go on from day to day

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN FRANCE
“The visit to France was the first meeting in our project.
Teachers from the different countries taking part in
MADE shared work, ideas and enjoyable moments
during these days in Salindres. We had the opportunity
to know the Collège Jean Baptiste Dumas, its teachers
and students, participating in some of their classes and
activities. We learnt about the French education system,
we prepared lesson plans to develop during the project
in our schools and we discussed the coming visits. It
was a very good start for a great project!”

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN ROMANIA
“I could tell a lot about my
experience in Romania, but, I will
highlight the final show where
each country offered its own
performance, but everyone used
the same language: MUSIC. I
don't want to miss this occasion to
claim the power of music. Music is
peace, it is bond, feeling,
emotions,...I'm proud to have
taken part in a project where music
has joined us. I want to thank all
our Romanian mates who opened
not only their homes to us, but also
their hearts, specially “THE
SAME DAN”. I will always be a
“Zamfir's boy”
Bernardo Mora (teacher)
“MADE Comenius has
been an amazing
exchange which has
helped me to improve
my English and also to
get along with incredible
people who I'll never
forget. In Spain the week
was amazing and it was
a pleasure to go to
Romania too. I think that
every school should try a
project like this, it's very
helpful for students,
families and teachers.
We are Europe and we
have to build bridges
between countries to
understand each other
better.”
Laia Vinyals
“I just want to say
thanks. Thanks to
everyone: teachers,
students and
families. Comenius
has changed our
lives. It is a great
way to discover
new cultures, new
countries and also
an opportunity to
become more
responsible.”
Josep Navarro
22
OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN POLAND
“Travelling to another country
is always a great opportunity
not only to learn from a
different culture but also to
practise a foreign language. It is
also a wonderful way to make
good friends. Thank you
Comenius for opening the doors
of opportunity to so many
students.”
Manela Marín (teacher)
“My experience in Poland
was amazing. It was a week
full of emotions, both good
and bad. It was an
opportunity to meet new
people, a new culture and an
opportunity to learn English
while we were having fun.
If one day someone asks me
if I want to return to Poland
with the same people I won't
think my answer 10 seconds,
it will be 'Of course'.
I am lucky to have been part
of this project.”
Andrea Blasco
“It was a great travel. I met a
lot of friends and I learned
English.
I enjoyed this travel a lot and I
want to repeat.”
Míriam Alemany
23
OPINION ABOUT MADE IN ITALY
“Comenius was a great
opportunity to look at
teaching and learning from a
different viewpoint. Lessons
became a starting point for an
exchange of traditions, music,
culture, way of life, ...etc.
We've participated in several
aspects of this huge project
and we've enjoyed all of them
both in our country and in
Italy. This project should be
compulsory, at least once, for
every student and teacher in
the EU because it's enriching
to meet and get to know other
Europeans and realise we
share more than we think.”
Amparo Ibor and Magda
Cebriá (teachers) “I have no words about the
week in Italy. There I stayed
at Arina's. Her family hosted
me very well and we did a
lot of activities. I hope to
return there next summer and
meet my Italian friends
again. I think that with these
projects people can learn so
much. I recommend
everybody to participate in a
project like this or similar.”
Isabel Sanz
“I learned from MADE a lot
of things like a new language
or the differences between the
countries that participated. I
learned to admire that
differences. My opinion about
MADE is very positive, a
wonderful experience.”
Alfred Torrijos
24
OPINION ABOUT MADE IN GREECE
“What can I say about this
trip? It was an amazing week,
full of fun, smiles and
beautiful moments. I enjoyed a
lot, with my Spanish and
European friends.”
Pau Clemente
“We made new friends in
Greece and met again with old
friends. We improved our
English and learned the
culture of each country.
Comenius will always be in
our hearts and we will never
forget this. Thank you for
everything.”
Carla Soldado and Marina
Moreno
“In Greece I spent an
unforgettable week, as everyone,
we stayed really happy. It
seemed we were in our own
home. I want to thank them for
the hospitality we received, good
fellowship and their attention.”
Miranda Albors
“Our project couldn’t have
a better end. We’ve lived a
wonderful week feeling the
great hospitality of Greek
teachers, students and their
families. We aren't going to
forget it easily. We’ve
shared incredible moments
that we’ll always keep in
our hearts.”

THE ANTHEM M.A.D.E., adventure in Europe
January 2014
Amazing songs are in our minds, in our hearts giving magic moments to us. When we sing spirits raise and voices join embracing the love in the world. With music, we spend the time and have some fun with all the friends we have around. And if MADE is the adventure in our lives, how beautiful project it is!
We want a peaceful life

all children have their home
a good chance and no worries
Finding a new friend
is like finding a great gem.
You can this pleasure have,

Our Headmistress thoughts
about M.A.D.E “Stefan Odobleja”
College represents an important
factor in the education field, in
the development of students as
citizens of a future Europe.
The direct contact, with
the pupils from the partner
schools, offered our students
the opportunity to improve their
English skills in a real life
environment, in order to
achieve European values.
The MADE project
introduced European customs to
certain subjects by presenting
examples of good practices. It
also contributed to promoting
cultural awareness and to
increase the interdisciplinary
teaching competences to my
colleagues. In this way, the
project brought a new
dimension to our educational
system.
To know the others and
to accept them as they are in a
complementary movement,
keeping at the same time our
cultural and regional identities
was one of the outcomes of this
collaboration.
Alina TEIS
What I felt as a coordinator
I’ve made
myself a
S.W.A.T.
analyse when
the project
started. Now,
checking it
again, I notice
that the space
dedicated
to weakness is empty. Probably I
was so excited because our school
was approved to be part in a
European project for the first time
ever.
If I have a look again on the
advantages field, I notice that, since
the beginning, I have offered credit
to my students, to their creativity,
their talent, to their English
language skills. I also considered
my teachers’ team as a strong one,
capable to manage the students to
realize the tasks and objectives of
the project. A different advantage
point was my School’s managers,
persons that offer me unconditioned
support in different situation. I was
right. Now I am reading the results
of the questionnaires, filled up by
my students, colleagues and parents.
All of them have improved their
language, cultural, also musical
skills; the target group have a large
rate of satisfaction after the project,
but most of all, I notice that my
students have felt that, for two years
they were a part of fairy tale, the
fairy tale of a family called MADE.
Dan ZAMFIR

What I felt when I won thanks to you.
As the days passed by, I started
missing my new family more and
more. I was a bit sad that I may
not see them again, but that
changed, when I received the
opportunity to make known the
hard work we did.
It was about to start the contest “Made for Europe”, a
competition where teens of all ages present their international projects. I
was picked to present us, and our project.
I was quite scared because I had to speak in front of a public and a
jury and I’ve always been frighten to do that. Fortunately, I had all the
support from my parents, my teacher and, of course from the M.A.D.E.
family and, before I figure out what was happening, I was in the
nationals. Hard work, and a lot of rehearsals, but at the end, a good
presentation. After all this, I had to go to Arad, the city where the
contest had taken place and showing all what means M.A.D.E. family.
I didn’t feel that I was in a competition until the day I put my feet on
the scene and started talking about OUR project. In the rest of the days I
couldn’t see anything else in my opponents’ eyes but friendliness, even
though we all wanted to win. I even made some friends and learnt a lot
of new things from the others competitors.
In my last day in Arad, the one that stressed me most, the
presentation’s day, I went in front of the jury with my hands shaking.
One more time I was afraid even to open my mouth , but somehow , my
eyes turned to the public for one second and I saw the warm and
encouraging smiles on my new friends’ face and I remembered all the
good wishes my M.A.D.E. family told me the night before. That was all
I needed to forget about my fears and give my best to show the jury why
we deserved to win. When I started talking about all the things we did,
my eyes filled with tears, I really missed the other parts of the family.
I won the second place in a national competition and I showed the
whole country that WE MADE it. Madalina PETRE, Second place in
the National Contest ME4EU.

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN FRANCE
Teacher’s view I have discovered many interesting
things in France, but what really
impressed me was the educational
system. My subject is Music.
Firstly, I was impressed by the well-
equipped Music Classroom which
provides students with a very pleasant
study environment. The heart-
warming and pedagogic way the
Music teacher, Didier Fasolo, would
present the information would turn
the class or the choir rehearsal into
pure happiness for his students. You
could have noticed the joy in their
voices, the emotion in their message
and also their satisfaction. I found the way students were
admitted very interesting. It was
based on their skills and most
importantly, on their options.
Basically, this is the way you achieve
a high performance: skills, desire and
work. We still have a lot to learn and
any similar experience means a step
towards personal and professional
development
Gabriel DULEA
Teacher’s view It was our first meeting. It
was an opportunity to get to
know each other , to come
to terms to each other about
the activities we were about
to perform in the projects.
I was surprised to discover
a school quite different from
the one I was coming from,
with a different
organization, with different
approaches and a totally
different type of schedule.
It was easy to communicate
to each other because we all
had the same target:
working together in a
project in which each one
should bring out the best of
his knowledge and culture
in order to make the others
understand how things work
for him in the country he
was coming from.
That is all in a few words,
just a summary of our short
meeting.

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN SPAIN
Teacher’s view Legendary realm, sought and
loved, Spain – through Valencia,
showed me – on one hand – the
historical greatness of the
commanding cathedrals, all
masked by different architectural
styles: gothic – renaissance, taking
into account the great impact of
the Spanish señors, but also the
modern face that lacks
compunction – through a neo –
modern architecture with buildings
and geometry that accentuate the
step forward, the rediscovery.
Spain is unique through the blend
of traditional and new, through the
seething life of the songs and
dances shown in vivid sounds and
colors, through the variety of
dishes – o paiellia – delicious
through the multiple mixes – for
example – through honest and
caring people – so beautiful
through their wiseness, I`m talking
about the beautiful people /
colleagues from Monserat, Real
Torrent – who, I want to say
thanks to because they exist.
What impression has Valencia,
Spain left me ? The impression of
a dream that I remember from time
to time through photographs.
Diana ARBANASI
Student’s view Sometimes we have unique
chances. That was a very big
chance to me: to visit Spain. With
the help of a great team of teachers
from my school, I had the chance
to take part in a Comenius project.
Beside the chance to visit Spain, I
had the pleasure to meet very nice
people, I saw those habits, I lived
one week with a Spanish family;
thing that helped me to develop
my English knowledge and I made
friendships that will last a long
time from now on. I am very
happy because I took part in this
wonderful project and I would like
many children to have this chance,
because the most important things
that I won from this project are: a
sister, a family and a lot of true
friends. Monica ANGHEL

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN POLAND
More than a view Somebody told me that once upon a time there was a girl doubting of
the love she could’ve found in people, of the beauty she could’ve seen
in team-working, of a memory’s impact after you let go something that
became a part of you, and finally, of the pain behind the ‘’good’’ in
‘’goodbye’’.
A country, a city, one week. They were enough to change herself. In
Strykow, Poland, she met Kasia Cnotalska, a special person that
believed in her, a smile that was offered to her every single day during
that week and an open personality for talking anytime. The kindness she
found in people, the respect she found in school, the talents shining in
students made her being ready to work in a team, to collaborate, to
integrate easily in a group, and in the end, showing her skills together
with the others’ and with the support of the teachers, MADE show had
taken place on Friday, the last day. When she realized that all she really
would’ve come to have in the end will be memories, that she will
probably never see those people again, that she should’ve been ready to
say ‘’goodbye’’ from that week, that city, that country, she was flooded
of deep emotions and feelings hidden in a beautiful pain.
So she decided to write a short story about how M.A.D.E. could change
herself in one week, hoping that every time when she’ll read it, she’ll
relive over and over again that unique experience.
Once upon a time, somebody told me.
Rebeca FOTA

OPINION ABOUT MADE IN
ITALY Teacher’s view
We start our journey
with an enthusiastic team, ready
for meeting new people or
meeting again those who were
here in Romania a year before.
The city of Naples fascinate us
from the beginning, full of life
and also imposing through its
monuments.
The artistic,musical and
gastronomic customs, were all a
contribution for a worth telling
story. The memories from this
journey and our hosts
hospitality will never dissapear.
We thank all the people who
were involved in this project,
people who were able to
achieve their goals.
George CALONFIRESCU
OPINION ABOUT MADE IN
GREECE
Student’s view My story in this project begins in
May 2015 when i had the possibility
of flying to Greece simply by the
reason of playing flute. I was told
that i would gain experience, but i
didn’t just get that, i met wonderful
people with whom i easily started
talking and our friendship would
soon begin its blooming process even
before we realized it. I was
surrounded by friendly minds during
the competitive activities. We even
managed to get through the small
fights that we had during this week
because of our honesty which helped
us grow to trust each other. All those
moments encouraged us to believe in
this relation who was supposed to
last only while we were together but
fortunately, at the moment, i can say
that we have MADE a big family
ignoring the distance who is taking
us apart...
Love my new MADE family and i
believe that one day we will be able
to meet again somewhere in this
small world.

10 teachers and 38 students from abroad took part in a visit to Poland.
We provided many activities and showed many presentations for our
lovely guests: a multimedia presentation "How everything began”; a movie presenting Stryków (recorded in English by Polish students).
Children from the primary school danced the choreography inspired by
the partner countries.
We showed a film about our students’ passions: music, dance and
sports. Then integration activities began: The table, The company, The
river, The statues, The barrel and The net, where students had to
communicate in English, and support each other. The tasks required
good ideas, collaboration, plans, chatting, skills, self-reliance and
mutual trust. Later we had an outdoor orienteering game "European
music and its creators", the first dancing workshop and another one- a
special choreography invented by Polish students which became our
project’s MADE DANCE. The last was a visit to the University of
Łódź (Faculty of Philology) & a Polish language lesson for the teachers.

Thursday, 9th October 2014
Thursday was devoted to the representative of Romanticism, the
greatest Polish composer Frederic Chopin. We organized a trip to
Warsaw, where the tour started from the Castle Square at Sigismund's
Column. We saw the Barbican, The Old Town Square, Presidential
Palace, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Then we visited an interactive Chopin’s Museum, which captivated our
guests.
After lunch we went to the Łazienki Park and admired the Chopin
Monument and the Palace on the Water. Beautiful trees, shimmering in
different colours, looked splendidly in incredible, sunny weather that
accompanied us every day.

Friday, 10th October 2014
Friday was very busy. We had:
A coordinators’ meeting. Lesson observations. PPTs: Polish educational
system. Polish folk and contemporary music. A workshop: Zumba with
a zumba coach. A contest-quiz "Name this tune".
Evaluation of the visit, Chronicles’ entries. A dress rehearsal.
A gala "M.A.D.E. in POLAND SHOW”: a national dance- the
Polonaise. Local bands: TWIX, SING, AGAT performances, a local
brilliant music show by Jakub Pawlak.
Presentations of dances of our partner countries, which students learnt
during the European Week in Stryków. The girls from six partner
countries danced a choreography of MADE DANCE. Common dances
were a wonderful climax of cooperation between the students and
teachers within our fruitful project.
Certificate ceremony: gifts for the guests: teddy bears, commemorative
framed posters, gadgets and promotional materials from the Promotion
Department at the Town Hall in Stryków and the Marshal's Office in
Łódź. Teachers and students also received a lot of souvenirs: Stryków
scarves, mugs, folders, neck-leashes, postcards and pens.
At the end we sang the anthem of our M.A.D.E. project.
A farewell dinner for teachers in Łódź and the Light Move Festival
(Festival of Lights and Illuminations) in Łódź.

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN FRANCE
Aneta Pęcherczyk: This trip has given me a great opportunity to learn
about new culture, customs and people living there. Kindness, warmth
and local teachers’ and their pupils’ smile will remain in my memory
for a long time.
Kasia Cnotalska: The first visit wasn’t too intense, but very valuable
when it comes to the exchange of pedagogic experiences between the
teachers participating in it. The French we met in Salindres were open,
friendly and hospitable.
OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN SPAIN Olga Sadowska: I don’t think words can express how important and
wonderful experience a trip to Spain was. You can learn culture and customs
of another country just being with the people living there, listening to them
and learning from them. I sincerely hope the students also appreciate this trip.
Eryk Kielak: We had very funny moments during the whole week. We spoke
only English. I miss everyone. When we had to say goodbye, we were very sad
and we cried because we had to finish the best week during the whole year!!!!
The project is really wonderful. I’ve been to Spain and I hosted my Spanish
and Greek “brothers” in Poland. I miss them so much and I’m still sad
when I’m writing this text. But the M.A.D.E. project gave me new friendships
and we are planning to see each other again.
45
Monika Jędrzejczak: With each recollection I’m smiling. I’d like to thank for
the opportunity to visit Spain.
Magdalena Zasada: I was able to develop my language skills and learn the
basics of a new language. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
Alicja Jagodzińska: These were the best moments in my life. I’ll never forget
this experience for sure!
Kasia Cnotalska: It was a very solemn moment when young people sang the
anthem of the M.A.D.E. project, which was created three days earlier. In fact,
everything we experienced during a visit to Spain was something amazing. We
learned how important music and dance are in Valencians’ lives. We got to
know a large part of the region and its extremely hospitable, open and warm-
hearted people. A week stay was a rich educational experience for all of us. I’d
like to return to this place again.
OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN ROMANIA
Bartłomiej Majchrzak: I was greeted with regional dishes by the host
family. Romania is a beautiful and picturesque country. I’m glad that I
could take part in the MADE project because this experience highly
raised my level of English proficiency. Bartłomiej Burtka: I remember
my stay in Romania very nicely. I’d love to come back there one day.
Maciej Kaczmarek: Each day was filled with interesting activities and
fun. Weronika Piestrzeniewicz: I remember a trip to Romania very
well. All the people in Romania were really friendly and nice. Every
46
day we were provided with numerous attractions. Wiktoria Miśkiewicz: Romania is a fantastic country. During the tour we saw the
sights, visited interesting places, getting to know and integrating with
each other all the time.
Kasia Cnotalska: The city of Greek-Dacian and Roman roots, a rich
history and sacred buildings, wonderfully situated in the Danube
landscape made that you want to return there. Special thanks to
incredible personality, a coordinator Dan Zamfir for his steadfastness,
vast knowledge of history and interesting program of our meeting.
Thank you- Polish students and Ania- for a fantastic Polish show in
Romania.
Anna Fortuna: Romania- Drobeta- adventure, memories, people,
knowledge, beauty, art, culture, friendship. It all combines the
Comenius project: beautiful moments I’ll never forget.
OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN ITALY Katarzyna Cymera: "Fire in the eyes and a smile on a face" - it was an
essential element of the project MADE-Pompei. Passion, openness and action
guided us throughout our entire stay in Italy. My stay under Vesuvius gave me
the opportunity to meet friendly people, know the organization of work of the
Italian school, and polishing up the English language.
Alicja Supera: Thanks to the project M.A.D.E. I’ve met wonderful people. I
hope that despite the distance between us, we’ll keep in contact. During this
week my English became better, I learnt a lot of new words in different
languages. This project brought many benefits to my life and I’m so happy!
47
Karolina Pietrasiak: In my opinion MADE project is one of the best things in
my life. Thanks to it, I’ve met a lot of wonderful people. I was able to learn a
lot of interesting things about other countries. I had the opportunity to learn
how people live in other countries. This week was very interesting for me, full
of excitement and memorable moments. I would love to experience it again.
Kasia Olczak: It was great to be able to cooperate with such nice people. I'm
glad I had a chance to take part in this amazing project. Participation in it is
just millions of unforgettable memories. I admit that it was hard work but it
was also really worth it. Now my English skills are definitely better. With the
possibility of working with people from all over Europe I've learnt a lot about
their culture, language and traditional food. I've met amazing people who
showed me that distance can't destroy any friendship. We're like a big family. I
will never forget any moment spent during this project. Although it's about to
finish, I know that it's just the beginning. I really can't wait to meet my friends
again and I hope it'll happen soon. The only thing I want to say is THANK
YOU, MADE!!!
OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN GREECE
Paulina Woźniak: The program gave me the opportunity to meet
wonderful people who support me in difficult moments. Even the
distance separating us is not an obstacle. I got more than I had been
expecting. It was wonderful to be part of the project!
Alicja Kowalska: Thanks to MADE, we were able to improve our
language competences, see how people live in Greece, learn about their
customs and traditions. We have expanded our own abilities and
practiced our knowledge. For me, MADE is an experience of a lifetime.
I’ll never forget what I experienced thanks to it.
48
Bartek Kwiatkowski: Comenius is an amazing project which brings
people together, it’s also an extraordinary experience. I'm sure I will
remember it for a long time. I’m very glad I could take part in this visit.
Julia Prusinowska: During a five-day trip to Greece, I met wonderful
people who, despite the age differences, the origin and a different
language, respected me and accepted me without any problems. The
Greeks have put in a lot of heart in the project. This project enables us
to expand our own abilities and interests.
Marta Staniszewska: The Comenius project teaches and develops us,
allows us to extend our capabilities and interests. Thanks to it, we get
new and valuable acquaintances. It’s amazing that during 5 days you
can integrate so well.
Marysia Szczerbiak: By participating in the MADE project, I became
more self-confident because I didn't believe that I’d ever be able to
communicate with people from other countries.
Aneta Pęcherczyk: Greece will always remain in my heart! Music,
dance, smile, breath-taking views, engagement and unique hospitality
are still in my mind and memory. The project is over but we’ve got
something which will never disappear…our sincere friendship, amazing
experiences and unforgettable moments. One thing is sure...MUSIC is
the universal language of mankind which can work miracles!
Kasia Cnotalska: MADE= fruitful cooperation; true friendships; tasty
food; unforgettable moments; stunning views; past (traditions), present
(people), future (who knows…)

2015
Everyone was excited, getting things ready and attractive for our guests.
The hosting students were happy, proud and bubbling with joy.
After a short meeting in the hall to let our partners enjoy all the posters,
panels and works we’d prepared to welcome them we went to the
meeting room where everyone got his/her badge and a folder containing
the programme, a notebook and a pen. Then we started our
presentations, the first one by the coordinator was a sort of summary of
all the visits and the activities carried out within the project. After that
some students illustrated their ppt’s about popular musical instruments,
Italian festivals and Italian food. We’d a break to make our guests taste
the typical Neapolitan coffee and we showed them our school in a
guided tour which started from the meeting room and ended in the gym
where other students and teachers had prepared tables inspired to each
country with fine decorations and food from our tradition. The music
entertainment consisted of a performance by a group of “ Bottai”,
followed by bagpipes, ciaramella, tammorra, putipù and a special
tarantella danced by the students. After the party we went to Naples to
visit the city centre and the San Carlo theatre. After the stunning view of
the gulf and a stroll along via Toledo and via dei Mille we went back
home to enjoy Italian food and hospitality.
51
Tuesday, March 10th
On the second day , the activities began in the meeting room where a
student introduced a video about the history of Pompeii made by other
students and narrated in English by him. Later, we went to the city
centre to visit the Sanctuary of the Holy Virgin, the crypt with Bartolo
Longo’s tomb, the museum and ex voto and climbed up to the top of the
bell tower to enjoy the view. The weather was perfect, mild and sunny:
the ruins, the sea, the surrounding towns, the hills and the volcano were
just there, all around us. We showed them all the places we would visit
during the week and everyone took pictures and videos to take home. At 11:30 we went back to school to see the presentation of the Italian
school system made by a colleague and after lunch we had a workshop
about traditional dancing and instruments given by two experts.
Students and teachers were involved in the activities and four hours
went by very quickly, learning the steps and having fun. After that we
went to the town hall where the mayor and vice mayor welcomed us
with a warm speech and a brilliant entertainment. In fact, the ensemble
“ Musica reservata” sang and played for us Neapolitan music from
Renaissance. Everyone could dance and try playing new instruments.
All the songs were explained and commented by two students who also
interviewed the artists after the concert. The show lasted about two
hours, everyone was amused because the artists were very good and
they involved the audience with games and funny tales about the origin
of some songs. A buffet with refreshments followed the show and the
mayor welcomed all the teachers in his room. We sat all together and
talked about the project . The mayor showed enthusiasm and interest
about it and praised all of us for the work and commitment we devoted
to the realization and coordination of all the activities. After a while
everyone was talking freely like old friends, then we thanked the town
hall administration and took our leave. The evening was another magic
moment spent together with our guests: the students with host families,
the teachers all together, talking about ourselves, our countries, our
habits, our work and families in an Italian atmosphere, tasting Italian
food.
52
Wednesday,march 11th
We left quite early for Salerno to visit the city located by the sea.
During the journey we showed our guests the coast and the stunning
view , an Art teacher said something about the origins of the place
which dates back to about 194 B.C. when at the feet of the Castrum
Salerni (now the hill of the Arechi castle) was founded a Roman
settlement. The coach left us in the centre so we walked to the old town
to see the narrow streets, the monuments and shops. We visited the
cathedral of Saint Mathew, devoted to the evangelist, the crypt, the
“Giuseppe Verdi “ theatre and had a long walk along the waterfront
enjoying the sun and the view of the sea. We also had some free time
for window shopping, then we went back to Pompeii.
In the afternoon, while the students were busy doing the workshop with
the experts to get ready for the final show, we took the teachers to a
historical cafeteria to show them the preparation of a typical Neapolitan
cake “ la sfogliatella” and taste the famous Italian ice-cream.
53
Thursday, March 12th The whole morning was devoted to the visit of Pompeii ruins. It was a
tiring walk but definitely worthy. Of course you can spend more than
one day to see everything , but we tried to show our guests the best part
of it.
In the afternoon there was the last workshop with Fabio Birotti and
Giovanni Saviello. In the meantime we took our colleagues to visit
some floral farms and they were delighted by the variety of flowers and
colourful cups.
The best part of the day was dinner when all gathered around the table
we exchanged opinions about our experience and got closer and closer.
54
Friday,March 13th
Alas! This was the last day, our hearts were very sad but we’d a whole
day to go and stay with our friends, full of events and surprises.
In the morning we had some workshops till lunch time. In the afternoon
we had the show: the first part was performed by the international
group; the second part was an overview of different genres with
dancing, singing and playing, accompanied by the M.A.D.E. in Italy
band created within the project.
Well, what else can we say? It’s difficult to describe the feelings and
emotions of the last hours but definitely those moments have changed
our lives forever. Thank you M.A.D.E, thank you colleagues, thank you
students, we’ll never forget this experience and our friendship will
never end.

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN FRANCE
The small sitting room in the
deputy teacher’s home. Five
colleagues. Seven languages
(English, French, Spanish, Italian
the official ones, in addition
Catalan, Occitan and Neapolitan –
they’re languages too). At the
beginning we speak in English,
then each of us starts speaking
his/her own official language and
in the end “ dialects”.
Then we go on comparing words, expressions and traditions
from our respective national and local customs. And the more we speak
different languages, the more we find out differences but also common
roots and paths, of everyday life, family traditions, feelings and
professional life. All this helps breaking the ice. The following day the
game goes on with Romanian colleagues. Hearing about Eastern
European history learnt from TV by one who, though still a child, has
lived it, is really unusual. I feel very close to these people and once
again we find the same European roots. With the colleagues from
Greece instead, the linguistic experience is a leap back to my past of
“Liceo classico” student: in their language I can nearly hear the “
fundamental myths ”of my classic and philosophical culture and I’m
definitely fascinated ! The Polish experience is a bit farther from me: I
know, ignorance is a barrier! But Comenius makes wonders even at
table: everyone translates everybody and we understand one another.
For me the mobility has a new meaning: it’s the number of Europeans
up to the present age and I’m also part of these migrations that move,
blend and in the end let cultures and humanity meet. Europe is my
country now: I’ve heard of it in the past but now it is an experience of
citizenship. Thank you to my colleagues!!!

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN SPAIN
Comenius is an adventure through
which you can change your life and
your way of being because you have
to adapt to the local culture and
traditions. It’s an interesting challenge
where you broaden your horizons
beyond limits and where you
understand which role you can play in
the future because of your willpower
and of your attitude towards the
others.
Before leaving I hadn’t thought it would have been so amazing. The
aim of this project is meeting people of different countries, collaborating with
them and working together. That’s not easy by the fact that people think in
different ways and it’s quite difficult to match all their ideas and making up a
conclusion. On the first day we visited the classes of the school ,observed their
educational methods and composed the song of the Comenius. In the
afternoon we went to the Cultural Centre of Montserrat where we did some
workshops: we learned how to dance some typical Valencian dances, we had
the opportunity to make instruments and had the pleasure of singing with a
Valencian songwriter. On the following day we had a Rehearsal session in
Montserrat and we finally recorded some songs after singing with the
orchestra.. With Comenius I have made many friends who come from Greece,
Poland, Romania, France and above all from Spain whom I can’t count. I have
been so lucky for the fact that the family who hosted me was really nice, they
were so friendly and available for me. It was really hard to talk with them
because they could only speak Spanish but, although we didn’t speak the same
language, we managed to understand each other . I have to underline the
professionalism of our Italian teachers (Adriana Leone and Carlamaria
Staiano) who attended the activities with us observing our behavior and our
relationship with the Comenius Students. They were always ready to listen to
our small problems, did the best to resolve them and have surely contributed to
make this adventure unforgettable. I will remember this experience for many
years because part of my heart is now in other nations …the Comenius ones.

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN ROMANIA
This was a very positive experience
for us teachers and students. There
was a choral participation; all have
played their role in a constructive and
collaborative way for the success of
the project.
The students got to know firsthand, uses, customs and habits of their
European peers! Definitely thanks to all the people who took part in this
adventure. Our high school with all the staff and teachers who, through their
collaboration have allowed all this, a special thanks to prof. Adriana Leone,
coordinator of the whole project who first made it possible to plan all this!
Last but not least, thanks to the other teachers and to all the families who
hosted students and teachers. This was certainly an experience to repeat. By
Carmine Gentile P.E.teacher
The first day together with the others, I met a beautiful person that has
changed my way of thinking. Before leaving I had a very different idea about
Romanian people but when I met them I received such a warm hospitality
that my thought changed immediately. The people are very friendly , and even
if in the city you can see an economic and social malaise, there are always
some people who work hard to change and improve the situation. I think that
this project is very important for us as students because we learned that
sometimes our thoughts about people are wrong and full of prejudice, and it’s
also very important because it allows us to meet new friends and know new
ways of living. During this week I met some friends that changed my life and
I had the opportunity to open my mind. In this experience I would only change
the show because we had some problems, the instruments were not up to our
expectations and we certainly could have performed better but at the same
time I think it is something that can help us to improve our temper. What
really matters is that we were there, all together under one roof and we shared
magic moments. The first day my hosting family showed me the beautiful
landscape such as the Danube’s river and some churches in the city centre and
it was very important for me to see those places. I could also taste some
different dishes and I must say I loved the food very much, although it was
very different from ours. My hosting family especially Bogdan’s parents are
very special people , they were so nice to me that I didn’t feel far from home
and after a week it was really hard to go away...I think that the Comenius
project is very important for the students because it allows us to travel and
58
meet new friends, discover new places and share a common passion. This is
possible only thanks to the teachers and to a strong collaboration with different
schools. I’m very happy and grateful for this experience and I think I will
remember it all my life long. By Lorenzo Lamberti IV E
OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN POLAND
From the 5th to the 11th
of October
I went toPoland with 4 girls from
my school.I was hosted by a local
family with another boy from
Romania. It was a wonderful
experience, because I became
close friend with Bartek (the
Polish guy) and Iustin (the
Romanian one), the two guys I
lived with for one week.
Thanks to Comenius, I had the opportunity to get in touch with new
behaviours, costumes and foods I would have never known here in Italy.
The travel was longer than I thought, since we had to stop in Munich for
something like five hours, but the whole experience was really worth it.
As I arrived at Lodz bus station, I was warmly welcomed by my host
family and by the organizers.
I immediately felt like I was at home. Everything was really well-
organized. The five days I spent in Poland were really exciting.

First day, pack your luggage, put your backpack on, get in the car and
have a last glimpse of your house, you won’t see it for six/seven days.
Time passed quickly, we stopped in Rome where we took another plane
to Athens, and when we arrived, I realized that not even half of our
travel was done, since we had a 4 -hour trip on a bus that took us to
Sparta, and since it was almost night, we had nothing to see along the
road, at least for the last 3 hours. We arrived almost at midnight, and for
the first time I met the guy who was hosting me: Nicos. Since then, days
passed maybe too fast, between visits to museums, musical activities,
dances and, at the very last day, the seaside! There are many things I
will never forget about this experience: The people, the places, the last
show and the toast. No, actually, everyday on the bus you could see
everyone having some toast that was prepared by our host
family.Anyway, I loved how they treated us, their hospitality and their
way to face everyday’s life.During the last show, I have been chosen to
be the opening dancer of one of the songs of the show, and when I asked
, the teacher told me “because you are one of the tallest ones”. Thanks
genetic! At the end of the show, everyone started crying, except for me
and my friend, and when they asked us why, we simply answered
“Italians don’t cry”. Truth is, we don’t like to show our emotions to the
exterior world, but inside, we were crying. A lot.The next day was spent
with our host families, and most of us decided to go to the seaside, even
if in different localities. Probably this was the day that passed faster,
because it was the most enjoyable, the day when I created a stronger
bond with some guys and girls of the group. At the end of the day, I had
time to think about the experience.I met incredible people and had a
great time with them, and I am sure this is not the end, but just a new
beginning. The day of our trip back home was like a copy-paste of the
first day: pack your luggage, put your backpack on, get in the car and
have a last glimpse of what has been your house for a week, you won’t
see it for… well, maybe forever this time .By Nicola Belfiore IV G

attractive and the streets beautiful, full of plane – trees. The city of
Mons also drew my attention, with the Grand Place in the centre of the

The Pont du Gard was fantastic. This ancient Roman bridge has
significant historical importance and many novelists, like Henry James,

What an amazing experience the visit to the Iron Gate of Romania. This

The Romanian welcome at the school was great and formal and the
final show was also incredible. The Principal was very important. The
building was old but beautiful and clean. The corridors were wide, with
exhibitions of some work of art students. At the break we could listen to
a girl playing the flute. Classrooms were cozy and had comfortable
chairs. They had smart boards only in the computer room. Student’s
lessons lasted 45 minutes as in Greece. They started school at 8 o clock

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN POLAND
“October 6th, 2015 said the calendar, when four students left for a short
trip to Poland , but a long journey to get along with children of other
nationalities in the union of European peoples. Comenius is called the
program that our school takes part in and which gives students the
opportunity of a European trip. Such actions aim at the intersection of
ideas and habits of different peoples in Europe. Our travelers, lived
unique experiences, but this was not the main objective of the program.
Children learn to create relationships easily and expand the horizon of
their minds with such trips, which can play a catalytic role against
xenophobia. Perhaps such a trip is a drop in the ocean of the states but it
is still an idea that in the recent years inspires more and more schools .
It is a kind of action of each country to be able to lend and to borrow
important pieces of their cultures. It is also important that travelers not
only of Greece but also of other countries created a basis to allow them
in the future if they need to travel to another country and be welcome
either for work or entertainment. The relationships of the children who
participated were created and simply can "rebuild ". So, we consider our
school to be honoured with the opportunity to contribute to the
realization of such an European objective. Students and teachers
honorable represented Greece and especially in Poland were awarded as
well. On behalf of travelers in Poland, I express our thanks to the Greek
State which gave us the possibility of such experience. Fortunately your
school students returned safe and full of new ideas. We propose you to
overcome all your fears and try for such an educational trip.”

OPINIONS ABOUT MADE IN ITALY
“The center of Naples was awesome! It
is one of the most historical city centers
in the world and you have many things
to see and do. It is full of tourists and
shops. Also the San Carlo theatre with
its thousand seats is so big and the
ceiling with the beautiful painting is
amazing.
The visit to the Neapolitan Crypt was
an unforgettable experience. This
gallery is about 700 meters long. What
is more, I had much fun in the
workshop on Tuesday, when we sang
and danced with F.Birotti. I really
enjoyed it and I made new friends
there.”
“Once more during the MADE visits
we felt at home, amongst very
hospitable people! We had a great time, full of music and dance! It was
a great experience!"

A SPECIAL OPINION ABOUT M.A.D.E.
When did it all start? It’s a long story.
Because it’s not just a project, it’s more
than that. It’s a strong bond among strong
people. M.A.D.E. will never fade.
Let’s see how all these people got
together. It was in 2010 that I met
Adriana on a course in Cardiff, Wales.
Strong Italian spirit. Then in April 2012, on another course in Lisbon,
Portugal, I met two more wonderful people Kasia and Dan. Kasia, my
secret Polish friend, unpretentious, strong-willed. Dan, my best friend
from Romania, a wild spirit full of ideas. A month later, May 2012,
there was this e-twinning seminar in Montpellier, France. Two more
teachers were added to my list ‘People I will never forget’. Imna, a
professional, loveable person from Spain and Stephane, the serious but
determined headmaster from France. With such wonderful personalities
and exceptional teachers, we had it MADE. A project custom-MADE
for us.
What to deal with? What could be the topic that would unite it all? What
else? MUSIC. Just MADE for us. Diverse music for diverse people.
Dan was in Sparta for the preparation of it. Unforgettable moments with
endless discussions on Skype with all the others. We were all MADE of
sterner stuff and wanted it to succeed and it did. More teachers came
along, all of them determined. Students? Thrilled with this cooperation.
And that’s the point when I had to leave and miss on this unique
experience. Fortunately, Claire was there to take over. The perfect
representative for Greece, who MADE it through this difficult task.
Marianna too, with her expertise in technology, but also her love for
music.
The result? A success. I was there with all the teachers and students on
the last day of the project, there where it started, Sparta. I was so happy
that this project was finally MADE true. At last, I shared some
wonderful moments even for a while. Excellent performances from all
the countries. Teachers and students crying at the farewell. I WILL
NEVER FORGET THESE PEOPLE.
