WORKSHOPSTHE KINGDOM AND THE POORBruce CollinsVenue: Firewire
Unless the poor are economically empowered, their lives and communities remain blighted by poverty, and dependent on ongoing aid where and when it is offered. A much fuller New Testament understanding of Jesus’ Kingdom gospel, and the power of the Holy Spirit, reveals the economic potential of the gospel to lift poor people sustainably out of poverty.
Bruce will develop this theme, and illustrate it with Just Earth, a movement that integrates evangelism, discipling, wealth creation and community transformation through church-recruited and pastored Farm Schools.
PORN FREERichard BlackVenue: Meeting Place
Pornography is easily and freely available and is having a massive and destructive impact on relationships, families and society as a whole. This impact is only starting to be realised and explored, and challenges us to upskill for both ourselves and the people we work and live with.
In this workshop Richard will outline different levers that strengthen the hypnotic pull to porn. He will show you how to unhook the ‘claws’ that pornography can have in a persons mind. We will consider how to get beyond the shame and stigma that pornography can have, and address it as a health issue.
THE STORY Roshan AllpressVenue: Room 1
The Bible is a collection of 66 books, written over some 1500 years, by at least 40 authors in three languages. Yet, it claims to tell us the story of the world – one that centres on Christ, and changes everything about how we should live as human beings. Come, and hear the whole story in one sitting.
New Wine is about ordinary Christians being released and empowered in extra-ordinary ways.
Engage in afternoon Workshops (each day from 1.30 to 2.45pm). Roll up your sleeves and get
practical by giving it a go.
GET COURAGEOUSJon and Kirsty DeanVenue: Room 2
This workshop will take a closer look at the psychology of courage. Many of us have heard the call to take courage, to step out for God or risk it all for the kingdom. But we don’t always know what to do next. So what does courage really look like? What can we practically do to become more courageous? In addition this workshop will explore beliefs, routines and support systems, providing space for you to reflect on your own journey of courage.

PRAYER & THE PERSECUTED CHURCHMike BurrowsVenue: Room 3
Discover the power of prayer, where life and death is as real as it comes. Not only will you be inspired to pray for the persecuted church, but we will actually pray together and make a tangible difference where the battle is the most extreme.
HOW NOT TO GIVE UP Justin DuckworthVenue: Room 4
Lessons learnt from over 30 years of ministry.
FOLLOWING WORKSHOPS HEAD TO THE EVENTS TENT AT 430PM FOR A MISSIONS MOCKTAIL HOUR
Join Alpha, Barnabas Fund, Church Army and Open Doors
for mocktails, nibbles platters, and mission matters.
WORKSHOPSGOD, MEN, WOMEN, AND SEX Bruce CollinsVenue: Firewire
For too long the Church has been reticent to talk publicly and positively about sex, and has allowed mass media to shape public thinking. We now live in times where a biblical belief that sexual intercourse belongs within heterosexual marriage alone is seen as hopelessly old-fashioned. It is hardly surprising that some wonder whether we need to ‘modernise’ our traditional teaching on sex in the cause of offering loving inclusivity for sexually active people of whatever orientation.
In this seminar Bruce examines what we can learn of God’s purposes in creating sexual love not only as a wonderful blessing to married couples and the means of human reproduction, but also to teach profoundly important things to the world about how He wants all of us, men or women, to relate to Him, enjoy Him and be in fruitful partnership with Him.
Please note: some content is explicit
GROWING GREAT FAMILIESJames BeckVenue: Meeting Place
For parents who invest in their family, the rewards are huge. You can build your family the same way as you build a house, with good foundations of love and values, strong walls of boundaries and discipline and a roof of parental ‘mana’ to keep it all together. Learn to make this happen with the least effort.
TAKING GOD’S WORD FOR IT Martyn DayVenue: Room 1
How is it different people can read the same Bible passage, but arrive at divergent interpretations of its meaning? How can we read the Bible well, in ways that lead us to interpret God’s life-giving Word with confidence? Interactive and thought-provoking, this workshop offers four practical tools with worked examples to help us interpret the Bible well, whether we’re reading it individually or corporately.
LEADERSHIP AND LISTENING Jon and Kirsty DeanVenue: Room 2
What do leadership and listening have in common? This interactive workshop will take a look at why today, more than ever, the art of listening to the people and world around us is so important. It will also provide some tools to put this into practice. The workshop is designed for leaders, aspiring leaders and leaders who don’t think they are leaders at all!
GOD’S HEART FOR JUSTICEJonathan and Kate Venue: Room 3
What does the Bible say about God’s heart for the poor and marginalised? What is our response?
This workshop is an exploration of rights violations, God’s heart for the vulnerable, and our response, with a particular focus on India; those falling outside the caste system trapped in exploitation and ritualised slavery.
AN EMOTION-AL HEALTH CHECK-UP Aaron IronsideVenue: Room 4
We get a WOF for our car, some of us see the doctor for an annual check-up - but what about an mental and emotional health?
Aaron will examine 10 lies that cause destructive pain, and explains how you can move past the pain into abundant life.

WORKSHOPS
BEYOND FLANNELGRAPH AND VEGGIETALES Roshan AllpressVenue: Room 1
How do we read the Bible? And how might we immerse ourselves more fully in Scripture, allowing it to shape and fuel our imagination and our living in the twenty-first century?
CHURCH LEADERS Bruce CollinsVenue: Firewire
Bruce has been involved in Church leadership since 1983, and over the last 20 years has also worked internationally with church leaders and their churches of different affiliations, sizes and contexts.
In this gathering he will talk about some of the key lessons he believes the Lord has taught him, and will attempt to answer questions raised (and confess ignorance where he can’t!).
ANXIETY-RESILIENTRichard BlackVenue: Meeting Place
We all get anxious from time to time, but for some people anxiety is debilitating. The good news is that anxiety does not need to control us or influence us, and that there are ways of easing and retraining our anxiety response. Richard Black works with people to help them understand what anxiety is, what causes it for them, and to find ways to become anxiety-resilient. This worship will cover many of his insights on this area of work, and pass on key aspects of this learning.
TACKLING TECHNOLOGY James BeckVenue: Room 2
Our kids are growing up in a world that is incredibly different to the world we grew up in. It can be tricky to keep up with the constant change that technology has bought into our homes and lives. Tackling technology helps parents to look at how technology is affecting the adolescent years, how technology affects the adolescent brain and offers practical tools to manage technology well in your home.
THE PROPHETIC & THE PERSECUTED CHURCHMike BurrowsVenue: Room 3
We all need to be led by the Spirit, especially in countries where it is illegal to be a Christian. As well as learning more about the persecuted church, there will be an opportunity for you to be baptised in the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of praying in tongues, and to prophesy.
MATES YOU CAN COUNT ONAaron IronsideVenue: Room 4
After spending nearly a year without a job, Aaron Ironside learnt firsthand about the good, bad and ugly of friendships.
Find out what kinds of friends are needed for the journey of life, and how you can develop those key relationships on 2019.
Workshops are about wrestling with real stuff, sharing experience, and learning together. They are the cutting edge of New Wine’s heart to equip the local church.
