President’s Message 60 years !
FEIEA proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2015 with its members: VIKOM from Austria, BViC from Belgium, IIK from the Czech Republic, FIKOM from Denmark, DPRG from Germany, ASCAI from Italy, APCE from Portugal, AICO from Slovakia, SIK-PRSS from Slovenia, Dircom from Spain, SVIK from Switzerland and IoIC from the United Kingdom *.
These member associations, along with the other associations throughout FEIEA’s history, have been the soul of this organization. Over those 60 years they have contributed to a European ideal for internal communication, supporting our shared goal and common
objectives: to defend and promote internal communication in Europe.
Together we have more than half a century of knowledge and an enviable ability to reinvent, to change from the mindset of industrial newspapers to more collaborative digital and web based communications.
FEIEA will always be prepared to the future of internal communication.
We are already looking to the future, setting the objectives for the upcoming years with renewed ambition.
Transparency and professional certification will be the buzz words and continuing to share best practice and trends stays high on our to do list.
Thank you very much to all national associations and their members who have been part of FEIEA’s history !
António Rapoula FEIEA President

intro !
Formed in Copenhagen in 1955 as the non-profit Federation of European Industrial Editors Associations, FEIEA is now the European Association for Internal Communication, embodying co-operation among national member associations, currently in 11 countries (2015): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
FEIEA’s main goal is to connect European internal communicators, speaking with a European voice on internal communication issues at a pan-European level across the European Union and business, economic, academic and social organizations across Europe.
FEIEA’s independence provides a network of professional support for internal communication professionals whose responsibilities include communication strategy and planning, employee engagement and change management, as well as the management and delivery of print-based, audio-visual or electronic communication channels.
It aims to broaden members’ knowledge of corporate communications issues, encouraging the practice of ‘doing things the right way’.
mission !
The development and awareness of the profession of internal communication is our main goal delivered through the organization of our events, providing best-practice sharing and networking at a European level. The implementation of a professional certification programme for internal communication is our next step.
This will consolidate FEIEA as one of the few federations within Europe with a main purpose - the focus on internal communication itself - not an industry like oil, post or railways. We don’t represent management or syndicates: we truly represent people and the professionals that communicate with them.
FEIEA’s mission is to develop and maintain a dynamic and open European single market that enables members to meet the challenges of globalization. We aim to provide tools and support that will help associations to stimulate innovation, and to promote pan-European visibility. We also aim to improve the range and quality of products and services for individual members and Associations, in order to deliver higher support standards, better pan-European opportunities, and a prosperous economic future for all Associations.

Secretary General Message
A great challenge !
Dear Members of FEIEA,
The advances in communication technology and the trend towards globalization draw us closer and make us more connected but, at the same time, these forces bring challenges and pressures.
Organizations and communities around the world have to respond even more quickly to increasingly complex issues.
It is these developments that have thrust internal communication professionals into the limelight in a way that we could only dream of a few years ago. The moment for our profession is now. CEOs and
other leaders are turning to communication professionals to help them make sense of this new world and to deal with the new accountabilities that it brings. Internal communication is growing at an unprecedented rate and working at levels within organizations and communities that we have long aspired to. The challenge for us is whether we can develop as a profession and in sufficient numbers to fulfill the roles that are open to us now.
2014 and 2015 have been exciting and very demanding years. Personally, I had the opportunity to develop as Secretary General. I am still learning and trying to improve my role and performance, with the objective to support and develop our members needs and expectations.
With the help of all FEIEA members, I truly believe that FEIEA will be able to achieve the deserved awareness and become Europe's leading Association for Internal Communication and communicators !
In 2014 and 2015 FEIEA achieve a turning point that allows us in the future to be 100 per cent focused on developing added value for our members.
I am ready ! We are ready !

2014 Grand Prix overview !
Once again the 2014 FEIEA Grand Prix was a success with 108 finalist entries from 12 different countries.
This year, the awards event was organised in London in cooperation
with FEIEA’s UK member association IoIC. The Grand Prix ceremony took place at the Radisson Blu Kenilworth Hotel in London on the 13th November 2014. The FEIEA Grand Prix winners celebrated the best achievement in internal communication from across Europe.
The competition gives entrants the opportunity for their work to be assessed against high standards of practice, according to set criteria.
Judging for the Grand Prix itself takes place in three stages:
1 - National round: Each FEIEA member association organises a National judging panel that assesses all the entries. The national round selects up to three entries per class.
2 - Semi final round: All entries received from the National round are evaluated at this stage. The pan-European jury will then vote for final Winners and Runners-up. The Jury comprises international experts from the FEIEA member countries;
