What have you learned from you audience feedback?

From my audience feedback I have acquired a lot of information regarding the success of my production tasks all from members of the target audience, so I know that it’s valid as they’re the people who find this genre more appealing.

Overall from my audience feedback I have found out from multiple sources that • My film trailer is very appealing to the target audience and it matches a lot of

conventions of the genre as well as the form.• My film poster is conventional to the majority as it relates to the genre and

correctly represents the characters, and maintains form conventions across the poster.

• My magazine front cover is conventional of the form because it includes all elements of magazines in general, as well as being conventional of the genre through the use of colour and images.

Overall, my production tasks are all conventional and appeal to the target audience by using conventions and themes of the genre and the form.

What are the key strengths and weaknesses of your product?

Strengths:• My main production meets conventions of the genre• My main production meets conventions of the form• Characters are represented correctly• All products portray themes of mystery and tension• All of my products look professional• All products combine together to create a promotional package suitable for

promoting a psychological thriller film.Overall my strengths are that it meets all conventions of form and genre as well as meeting correct representations of characters all created through the use of conventional themes.

Weaknesses:• Film magazine front cover doesn’t look eye catching and is plain and uninteresting • The mise-en-scene could be improved more (Settings and costumes)

What have you learned about how effectively you have appealed to the target audience?

Through my thorough audience feedback I have learnt that I have appealed to my target audience very effectively. • My questionnaire allowed me to thoroughly find out exactly how I appealed to the

target audience. As my results were extremely detailed and positive I have found that I appealed greatly to my target audience through all aspects of production, through all of the technical areas, for example my representations were appealing because they were conventional and in turn created appealing themes of mystery and tension.

• The YouTube comments also backed this up as they stated how interesting it was and how it was like an actual film trailer.

• Also my focus group allowed me to further conclude that my productions were conventional and appealing to the target audience, therefore showing I’ve effectively created appealing productions meaning they’re successful.

What might you change based on audience feedback?

Film trailer:Based on my audience feedback for my finished Film trailer I would change some of the elements of mise-en-scene, mainly to improve some of the settings, for example I’d improve the government agent scenes in order to make them look more like a government office, even though I’ve altered the location between the first and final draft, I would still alter them as the office doesn’t look entirely like a government office. Other than that I see minimal room for improvement, other than altering costumes and adding in additional props such as more weapon use.

What might you change based on audience feedback?

Film poster:For my Film poster I would improve the main image, as all other elements are conventional and appeal to the target audience as they use conventional elements of the form, as well as presenting the information in a bold and interesting way which is conventional of the genre. But in order to improve the main image I would make it so you could see the emotion on the protagonist’s face as well in order to represent the protagonist more conventionally, as although he does currently look weak and overpowered, by showing his emotion looking scared, then it would make it even more conventional. Also I’d ensure there was more background at the top of the image to make sure the antagonists’ head isn’t behind the text at the top of the poster.

What might you change based on audience feedback?

Magazine front cover:Based on my magazine front cover I would improve the main image as it doesn’t have much of an impact on the cover overall. The image is conventional of the genre as it shows the antagonist in costume looking powerful, but it isn’t appealing to the target audience, which I have found out from my research, mainly because it is uninteresting and the background is very basic. In order to improve the image I would have the actor wearing a full suit, and would alter the location so he’s in a government office which would therefore be more conventional and relevant to the trailer.

How would audience feedback help you if you released your product?

Overall I feel that audience feedback would help me a lot if I were to release my full finished product, mainly because it allows me to find out whether the promotional methods appeal to members of the target audience already, and can also allow me to find out exactly what I need to do to improve, therefore allowing my promotional methods to be improved enough to promote the film better and gain mass interest within the specific target audience.
