There will be three designated fenced areas for off-leash dog activities to cater for large, medium and small dogs, with each area incorporating irrigated turf, shelters, seating, a drink fountain, sand pit, and landscaped gardens. The City of Armadale is home to 11,691 registered dogs, who will soon be able to enjoy this fun new facility all of their own. Work underway for Off-leash Dog Park February will mark the start of the annual junk collection, running for nine weeks, excluding the week of Easter Monday, and covering the entire City of Armadale across 11 zones. Residents will have one weekend before collection commences to place their junk on the verge, with the date of collection advised via an orange flyer to be delivered at least 10 days prior to the start date. In the interests of community safety, junk placed on the verge prior to the weekend before collection may incur a fine of up to $500 for the owner of the junk. Both the first qualifying heat on Saturday 24 February between 5 and 9pm, and the final qualifier being held on Saturday 24 March between 5 and 9pm will be hosted by the City of Armadale at Cross Park Skate Park in Roleystone.
