How was it born? Well, we are often given written assignments in English lessons: write an essay, write a letter, write a book review, write an article etc. We thought it would be much more exciting if we did something for real, so decided to make a magazine. You might not know but the school actually had an English magazine about 10 years ago, and it was quite po-pular. So why not revive the old tradition and publish something 4U!We hope you are going to enjoy reading it. We tried to make it in-teresting and useful as well, so that you can not only practice

Clearwater Marine AquariumHave you ever heard about Winter, the dolphin? Have you seen the Dolphine Tale? If you ever go to Florida don’t miss the fabulous Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a big facility which is the home of a lot of injured animals. It is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured marine animals, public education, animal-assisted therapy and research. The aquarium opened in 1972, when a group of enthusiastic volunteers decided to create a place where young people can learn about sea life. Nowadays the Aquarium has 3 dolphins, 8 turtles and a lot of other interesting marine animals.

One of the reasons of the popularity is Winter. She is an injured dolphin who was saved by volunteers. After her rescue, unfortunately they had to amputate her caudal fin. You have to know that the world didn’t know any dolphins who can live without its caudal fin. After the difficulty, Winter now is a happy dolphin who has a prosthetic tail and a best friend, Hope. But what else can the Aquarium offer? You can feed sting rays, sharks and pelicans, or cruise on an interactive boat safari. If you want to, you can take a picture with a dolphin, and there are some feeding programs too. For those who want to go to a museum, there are possibilities too. The Winter Zone and the Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure show you how the Dolphin Tale had been made, take you

behind the scenes and also inside the movie. The Aquarium is open from Monday through Sunday, but at Thanksgiving and on Christmas Day they are closed. If you want to go there with the class or family, or want to celebrate your birthday you can do it.

I really recommend visiting Clearwater Marine Aquarium, because it’s a beautiful place and you can learn a lot about marine life. Let’s get cookin’!

easy cookie recipes for beginners

• 500 grams plain biscuits (háztartási keksz)• 2 large cups sour cream• 10-12 teaspoons white sugar• 3 packs vanilla sugar• 1 spoon bitter cocoa

Mix the 10-12 spoonfuls of white sugar and the 3 packs of the vanilla sugar into the sour cream. Place a layer of biscuits onto the bottom of a medium size pan. Spread 1/3 of the sour cream onto the layer of biscuits.

Add one more layer of biscuits and 1/3 of sour cream again, but now spread the cocoa on this layer. Repeat the first step: add one more layer of biscuits and spread the last 1/3 of the sour cream. And now sprinkle some cocoa on its top, and you are done.

You have to put it into the fridge for 10-12 hours to make it soft, and then you are ready to eat this wonderful cookie.

Cooking time: 30 min.Try to make the butter as soft as you can, then mix it with the sugar. Add the flour and the ba-king powder to it, then add the egg and the salt.

Mix the whole blend until it is creamy. Break the chocolate into small pieces, then add the chocolate to the blend. Preheat oven to 190°C

Make lots of little piles in the pan from the blend and bake for 10-15 min.

Health

Today people’s life is so hard and stressful. We have many

problems and we forget to give attention to our health, which is the most important thing.

In high school, students have to start to take care of their body.

Healthy eating means choosing

healthy foods and avoiding types of foods which increase the risk of several illnesses. A good diet contains a wide variety of foods like vegetables, fruits, seeds, grains, dairy products.

In school we have a great buffet and if we choose a good sandwich for breakfast or lunch it’s not a problem, but when we go out to McDonald’s and other fast food restaurants, which are selling their junk, well, that’s another thing. I’m not saying everything is bad there but the truth is that it’s not the best place to get some food. Try to avoid those places and try to be organized in school and out of school. I like to pack some healthy snack in ziplock so I won’t end up eating some junk food just because I am super hungry and I won’t

regret that decision. Your body needs certain nutrients to sustain everyday biological processes. Carbohydrates, protein and fat are macronutrients that provide calories, but they also have other functions. You have to eat the right amount of these nutrients, and you have to know what is the best for you.

Some say everyone should eat 5 times a day but only small portions at a time, while others think that three meals are enough. In any case a substantial breakfast is a good start to the day, and we should not eat too much for dinner.

The most important thing is you have to drink water. Water is the best for you. If you do not drink enough, you will become dehydrated and may suffer from headaches, and tiredness, and it may become difficult to concentrate. You should drink at least eight glasses of water. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is also advisable since they contain lots of water.

Health

Last but not least don’t forget exercise! We all know we have PE lessons but after school we should go and do something more. Exercise helps to stay fit and healthy, and you won’t become fat. It also helps us to concentrate. Doing exercise has a good effect on our self-esteem and prevents depression. Exercising releases chemicals, like serotonin, in the brain. These have strong effects

on your mood because they help reduce anxiety and stress. What is more, doing exercise reduces the risk of diabetes, cancer, and heart attack. Physical activity also boosts the immune system.

So drink enough water, eat well and do exercises. Your body will say a thank you for the good decisions.

This time I will report on THE EUROPEAN WOMEN’S

HANDBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

It took place in Hungary and in Croatia last December. There were six locations: Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, Debrecen’s Fönix Hall, Audi Arena, Győr, Arena Zagreb, Varazdin Arena and Gradski vrt Hall in Osijek. The teams had been divided into four groups.

In the Preliminary Round, we were in Group A with Russia, Spain and Poland. The fans expected the Hungarian women secretly at the first place of the European Championship. However, our dreams seemed to shatter. The team started the championship weakly. We played a draw against Russia, then fortunately we achieved an easy victory against Poland. Then came a very important match against the Spanish, which decided who could fight for the semi-finals. The little plus which is vital to victory was missing from the team and we lost this really important match.

We brought 2 points to the Main Round, where we were in Group I. It was a very hard group which included Norway, Denmark and Romania. Immediately a derby took place against Romania. This match was

held in Debrecen in the Great Fönix Hall. The atmosphere was amazing, but the Hungarian team did not play as well as the fans had expected. They seemed to lack creativity, which might have been caused by the absence of Anita Görbicz. Fortunately, we won this match and a pale light began to flicker at the end of the tunnel.

The next match was against the Danes. Due to the excellent Danish captain, we suffered a defeat from them. While we were fighting with natural elements, Norway crushed their opponents and already counted as the winners of Group I in the Main Round.

Sport

Dear Readers,

In this column, I would like to report on sport events in Hungary and around the world. There are plenty of championships and sport activities going on at the same time, so I am going to select the ones that I hope you would read with interest.

Sport

We had to play with them next. Surprisingly, we started the match very well and won the first half with four goals. In the second half they rested the key players and our shots were unstoppable. As a result, we won this match with a big difference in score, and we could play for the fifth place of the Championship in Budapest against the French.

The French had very tall players and we didn’t have enough chance to score goals, even though our

goalkeeper saved a lot of great shots. In the last minutes of the match we had loads of indiscipline and France could win by one goal, due to their fast breaks in the crucial final moments.

In sum, we had some grand moments, but unfortunately our key players couldn’t do what we expected from them. Anyway, the final outcome was not a surprise: the Norwegian team won gold medal (for the sixth time in twenty years).

Isn’t it funny how from year to year you don’t see much of a change in yourself, physical or emotional, then suddenly you look back and you are a different person. It’s like watching the hour hand on a clock, you don’t really see it move but it’s changing all the time.

If you haven’t seen the last two Hobbit movies, The Battle of the Five Armies is not for you. The third piece of the trilogy starts where the previous movie (Desolation of Smaug) ends: no epilogue, no introduction, so the first two films are essential components of the plot of the third one.

If somebody asked me to summarize the story of this film I would not have much to say, though the film is 144 minutes long. However, almost the whole movie is non-stop action with no real plot.

In the first ten minutes there is a short scene with Smaug; the wicked dragon, who attacks Townlake where (I hope it is not a huge spoiler…) Bard kills him with the arrow his father gave him as his legacy. So the dwarves take back their home land, Erebor with a lot of treasures. However the elves set eyes on this huge property and together with the people (who lost their home because of the dragon attack) demand their part from this

richness. Thorin doesn’t want to give a share in the mountain or the gold, and what is more, he doesn’t want to negotiate, so it seems they will have a fight.

After that there is a long, dull part (except the scene of rescuing Gandalf from Dol Goldur) while the elves, dwarves and men prepare for the battle. However, ’suddenly’ an orc army arrives lead by the evil orc, Azog to enslave Middle-Earth. Then starts an endless war between good and evil where familiar heroes appear (including Legolas who overcomes the law of physics again with jumping up from falling stones).

Of course by the end of the movie the good forces defeat the evil (with the help of the eagles) and also there is a duel between the two ancient enemies Thorin and Azog.

Certainly all of these actions sound good but in my opinion the too many disjointed, unnecessary action scenes make the whole film ineffective for the viewer. Nevertheless, the great visual effects bring back the atmosphere of the previous films and paint the fabulous world of Middle-Earth

again. The actors are good at their not too challenging roles. The only weakness is the story. And a nice story is not a disadvantage for a 144 minute long film. I think Peter Jackson should have directed a two part film instead of a trilogy. We are all familiar with the saying: „The less is sometimes more”.

However, everybody should decide for themselves whether they like this film or not. In my view, it cannot be compared to the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy.
