Women’s Ministry

Breakfast

The Women’s Ministry

Breakfast will be moved

to the 4th Saturday in

February, February 22 at

9am since many people will be away for the President’s

week Break. In March we will meet on the 3rd Saturday of

every month as usual at 9am in the Education building. All

women are encouraged to join us. Any changes to meetings

will be updated on the calendar and you will be notified by

email and the Stay Current.

The Missions Committee News

The Missions Committee is collecting soups for the

month of January. Please bring in any kind of soups

and place them in the bin on the table at the back of the

church. All foods collected by the Missions Committee

are delivered to the food pantry at Helping Hands

Rescue Mission in Huntington.

WARM CLOTHING DRIVE

The Missions Committee is collecting warm clothing to

be delivered to Helping Hands in Huntington for

distribution to those in dire need. Please place your

coats, hats, gloves scarves and mittens in the bin at the

back of the church.

MISSIONS OPPORTUNITIES

The Missions Committee announces the first night of serving

dinner to the homeless at Gloria Dei Respite Center. THANK YOU to all who came out to serve dinner on Jan. 7th.

We will announce the next day St. Luke will be serving

dinner very soon. Help is needed for set up, greeters,

providing dinner, and clean up. We need main dishes, salad,

sides, and dessert. If you can help, please sign up on the

poster in the narthex or contact Barbara Nelson at 631-549-

Jr./Sr. High/Family Bowling Day- Sunday, February

2nd- 12:00pm-3:30pm- Join us for a day of bowling

together at the AMF Lanes in Smithtown. $25 includes

bowling, shoe rental, soft drinks, and 2 slices of pizza per

person. All youth- meet at church at 12:00pm for a ride and

get picked up at church at 3:30pm. If you are meeting us

there, meet at 12:45pm and get picked up at 3:00pm. All

are welcome-bring a friend! Sign up by emailing or texting

Jackie or Kirsten. ***Note: This is a date change from the

original Jr. High schedule.

Our next Confirmation class is Monday, February 3rd

from 7:30pm-8:45pm in the Youth room. Please

remember to bring your journal and your Bible. **There is

no class on January 20th due to the MLK Jr Day.

Jr. High Respite Center at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

in Huntington Station- Tuesday, February 4th- Meet at

Gloria Dei at 6:00pm to help prepare and set up a warm

meal and beds for those in need. Pick up will be at 8:00pm

at Gloria Dei. *This counts for community service hours if

needed. Sign up by emailing or texting Jackie or Kirsten.

*A list will go out to see if anyone can help bring items for

the dinner. *See flyer for more info.

***Just a quick note: I will be out on maternity leave

starting in January but am still accessible via texting or

email. Kirsten Bond will be in charge of Jr. High ministry

and Confirmation. Feel free to contact her with any
