The ladies of the Sisterhood United Methodist Women Circle are proud to host the 2016 Keith Church Talent Show! Proceeds from the show will be used to fund the year-round ministries of the circle, with the majority of proceeds to be given to Community Resource Agency of McMinn, an organization working to end and prevent homelessness in our community. This year’s show will also feature special guest artists, Asher (The Gathering’s lead guitarist, Marshall Lowe’s band, signed to Soncured Records.)
New this year is a $100 prize for the first place overall winner. The Sunday school classes of Keith will once again compete for the Sunday School Championship Belt. The competition is open to all members of the community with acts that are family friendly and no more than five minutes in length. Voting is by cash or check — the act with the most money wins. Register online at www.keithumc.org/talent-show-2016 or in the church office by February 24.
Coming to Keith Church this month ...
WAYNE KERR BAND Tuesday, February 16, 7 - 9 p.m., The Gathering
The Wayne Kerr Band will perform at Keith Church as a part of their
Night of Worship Tour on Tuesday, February 16 from 7 - 9 p.m.
Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is $5/person, but free for
college students. For more information about the band,
visit www.waynekerrmusic.com.
Join us Wednesday, February 10 at Noon in the Prayer
Chapel and at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary for Ash Wednesday
services. During the services our pastors will impose
ashes upon those wishing to receive them. There will be
no Bible studies, hand bell rehearsal or children’s choir
that evening.
In the Bible, sprinkling oneself with ashes was traditionally
a sign of one's sorrow for having committed sins. In the
Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday also marked the
beginning of preparation for the understanding of the death
and resurrection of Christ. The particular symbolism of
ashes for this day comes from a practice in the Roman
Catholic churches in which the ashes from the palms used
in the preceding year's Palm Sunday celebration are
blessed. With these ashes, the priest on the first day of
Lent marks a cross on the forehead of each worshiper. This
practice has become a part of Ash Wednesday services in
many United Methodist churches.

Dear Keith Memorial United Methodist Church,
Thank you for your monetary donation and your
continuous support of the H.O.P.E. Center.
Thank you,
CAC Staff
Dear Friends at Keith Memorial UMC,
Thank you so much for your support of the Grace House!
We have always known that for the Grace House to work
it has to be a community ministry. Gracious community
members like you help to make it possible for the Grace
House to provide not only shelter but a second chance for
our residents. Since our start almost five years ago we
have served more than 200 homeless members of our
town and county.
Peace be with you,
The Reverend G. Hendree Harrison Jr., Board Member
Dear Friend and Faithful Supporter,
As the New Year rolls in, I am reminded of just how much
God has blessed the Women at the Well Ministries.
Words do not seem adequate to express my gratitude for
your prayers and continued faithful, financial support of
the ministry. This year alone your gifts have provided
housing, clothing and educational needs for more than 15
women on an on-going basis. In addition to the practical,
growing needs of the students, your donation ministered
hope to every woman equipping them on a journey of life-
transformation. With your continued support we will be
able to do even more. Thank you for your partnership for
2015.
Sincerely,
Stephanie McGreevy, Program Director
Dear Pastors and Members of Keith,
Thank you very much for your December 31 and January
7 gifts totaling $6,920.23 to Coordinated Charities! I am
amazed and humbled considering your total contribution
since December is $7,674.23. It is clear Keith Church not
only has a heart for helping people in our community, but
you put an amazing amount of action toward what you
believe. It is our hope to continue answering emergencies
and providing a way forward for people who need help.
We also hope to continue inspiring new ways of doing
things imbued with strategy that will be further reaching
than a mere “band aid” or is spiritually empty.
In Christ,
Kevin Lane, Executive Director
