Our Model

Phone Conversation or Application

We partner with local shelters, rescues and veterinarians in Massachusetts that refer DogParents in need of assistance to Fairy DogParents.

Applicants for assistance but be ‘qualified’ via their application and a phone interview and confirm their dog is at risk of being surrendered to a shelter.

We manage ongoing relationships with dogs and their Dogparents in need of general wellness or chronic care needs.

We depend entirely on the dedication of our 15+ volunteers, the generosity of individual donors and local businesses to meet the needs of the DogParents in the community.

To meet the goals of the community and 200+ Sponsor Dogsper year must raise $200,000 annually.

FDP Expansion 2014 & BeyondStarting a Chapter- Our Requirements

To establish a chapter will be an intense commitment both financially and personally. The operating budget to run the Massachusetts chapter is $100,000 per year.

Each point below are requirements each new chapter will need to meet before they can open their own chapter and use our model and resources.

Chapter Requirements:Chapter will assign a Pack Leader who will be accountable for all points below.

Chapter will provide evidence of 15 volunteers in various roles prior to opening including but not limited to a local board with specialties in finance, law, marketing, fundraising and community relations, who will train with us 6 months to 1 year prior.

Chapter will provide an overall strategy including a fundraising, community relations, and marketing plan and related goals for year 1, year 2 and year 3.

Chapter will commit to and be accountable for following the established Fairy DogParents processes including applications for assistance, fundraising, financial and other reporting, community relations, use of logo and participation in regular audits.

Long Term Goal of ExpansionStarting a Chapter

Our Vision for Expansion: To expand to 2 additional states in 2014 then expand to an additional 3 states

in 2015, then establish a national presence by 2020.

To handle this expansion similar to franchising by approving each new chapter based on the Fairy DogParent’s requirements,. Fairy DogParents will provide the playbook on how to establish and run the chapter and then monitor and audit each chapter to ensure they remain within Fairy DogParents expectations and requirements.

Important information: The IRS 501c3 Guidelines require approval of any changes to our application. Laws vary per state on establishing an animal welfare charity and these must be vetted and better understood before we move forward. *Fairy DogParent’s logo and name are trademarked nationally and we ask no one use this should you decide to start a similar organization in your geography.
