Training Objectives FCE Academy Training Curriculum – 2015/16 Session: 3 Orientation to Academy Attacking style of play in zones 2 and 3 plus Soccer fitness 1. Coach players to pass to proper foot dependent on where defender is. 2. Coach player movement off the ball to create passing lines to the ball 3 Coach team to draw in opposition then switch the point of attack to the weak side 4. Coach team shape where it pertains to a positional philosophy with 5 lateral channels. Coaching Points/Key Factors 1. Passing technique to play through gate, pace and on ground 2. First touch out of feet to pass back on second touch 3. Disguise the first touch STAGE 1 STAGE 3 STAGE 2 Duration: 1:00 Intensity: MedHigh Time: 12:00 Reps: 8 Sets: 1 Rest Between Reps: 0:30 Between Sets: NA Organization (Equipment/Players/Physical Environment) Grid: Cones 34m width, length is 8m. Two players with one ball. Players must take touch outside of gate then pass through it. Work on different touches, inside foot, outside foot, open up, across body. Ball goes behind the cone and then ball can go in front of cone, player behind. Coaching Points/Key Factors 1. Movement to create multiple passing lines to the ball 2. Receiving with an open body position to play forward 3. Immediate support for target player once ball switched Duration: 3:00 Intensity: Med Time: 11:00 Reps: 3 Sets: 1 Rest Between Reps: 1:00 Between Sets: NA Organization (Equipment/Players/Physical Environment) Grid: 9x20m with halfway line. Playing 6v2 with one attacking player always on the opposite grid line. Players play 5v2 in one box, trying to transfer the ball to the opposite target player (striker). Once we play in opposite target, all players transfer to that grid. Duration: 6:00 Intensity: 70% Time: 29:00 Reps: 4 Sets: 2 Rest Between Reps: 1:00 Between Sets: 2:00 Organization (Equipment/Players/Physical Environment) Grid: Full width by 40m with goals. Two teams playing 8v8. Teams play possession trying to play a penetrating pass. Either the ball or runner must go through a gate to score, but not both. Use the lateral channels to continue to work the game model with respects to positional awareness STAGE 4 Coaching Points/Key Factors 1. Ball possession to draw in opposition then exploit weak side 2. Outside backs and Wingers playing in separate lateral channels 3 Timing and angle of penetrating runs Duration: 15:00 Intensity: 5060% Time: 32:00 Reps: 2 Sets: 1 Rest Between Reps: 2:00 Between Sets: NA Organization (Equipment/Players/Physical Environment) Grid: 100x60m Full game with throw ins but other restarts from the keeper. Offside is on. Coaching Points/Key Factors 1. Creating width and depth with 5 lateral channels 2. Movement of central midfield with one holding mid 3. Passing to disorganize opposition to exploit weak side.
