Fur: Animals on fur farms spend their entirelives confined to crowded, filthy wire cages.Fur farmers use the cheapest and cruelestkilling methods available, includingsuffocation, electrocution, gassing, andpoisoning. In China, millions of dogs andcats are bludgeoned, hanged, bled todeath, and sometimes even skinned alivefor their fur. Chinese fur is often deliberatelymislabeled, so if you wear any fur, there’s noway of knowing whose skin you’re in.

Leather: Most leather comes fromdeveloping countries like India and China, where animals routinely have their throatsslit and their skin ripped off while they arestill completely conscious. A PETA Indiainvestigation found that cows have their tailsbroken and chili peppers and tobacco

rubbed into their eyes to force them to walkafter they collapse en route to slaughter.Watch video footage of what you’resupporting if you wear leather atPETATV.com.

Wool: Most of the world’s wool comes from Australia, where sheep undergo“mulesing,” a gruesome mutilation in whichlarge chunks of skin and flesh are cut fromtheir backsides without any painkillers. Eachyear, millions of Australian sheep who are nolonger producing enough wool arecrammed onto export ships to be sent tothe Middle East. Sheep who survive theterrifying voyage are dragged off trucks by their ears and legs, tied up, and beatenand have their throats slit while they are still conscious.
