Fascination:

What is a fascination? For me understanding the fundamentals, dare I say the principles, in which a critical view on design requires. What is it that I appreciate in the natural and composed environments that surround me? What catches my eye at first sensational glance and what keeps me in-terested with sunstained story behind it. These elements make up my so called appropriated identity, not of my own creation but of an organized curation. The purely sublime manifestation of witty invention mixed with the cleverly altered classics. At first I am only drawn by the substanti-ated and intellectualized but the emotional and romantic come through in moments of self professed weakness. Its a melange but continuity exists with consideration for aesthetics, formal integrity, proportion, material, context, and message.

Cyclist:

The form of the bicycle is one of the most soldified archetypes of design, following the original believe in form representing function. In most case the frame met by two proportionaly suited wheels bares all with little or-namentation disrupting the purpose of use. Though this held truth has been challenged, it is rare for these design adaptations to reveal ingenuity. Then again there is nothing wrong with the minimalisation of a bike’s frame where new materials allow for more flexible in structural support. An iter-ation that combines both mode of transportation with its conjoined securi-ty, eliminates extra hassle. This has always been a personal issue of mine, keys and locks that seem so futile. Cycling has always been part of my life but especially over the past five years, living in The Netherlands. The quickest, healthiest, and cheapest way to move all at once. In some cases a status symbol but at the end of a long night the only way to get home.
