Fascination:

What is a fascination? For me understanding the fundamentals, dare I say the principles, in which a critical view on design requires. What is it that I appreciate in the natural and composed environments that surround me? What catches my eye at first sensational glance and what keeps me in-terested with sunstained story behind it. These elements make up my so called appropriated identity, not of my own creation but of an organized curation. The purely sublime manifestation of witty invention mixed with the cleverly altered classics. At first I am only drawn by the substanti-ated and intellectualized but the emotional and romantic come through in moments of self professed weakness. Its a melange but continuity exists with consideration for aesthetics, formal integrity, proportion, material, context, and message.

Minimalism:

A method of understanding the composed or organic environment around us in its purest form, the purest human achievement. What is the essential of living, communicating, and finding bliss amongst the complexity. Complexity is acceptable but why not let it ferment in the brain rather then act as method in demonstrating individualism over other individuals. For me mini-malism, if a conception out of modernism or it’s bastard child post mod-ernism, is the first step to an essential balance. Only when its achieved does it become a blank canvas for expression. This method of design follows the first design philosophy, Ruskin lamps and truths of architecture in which not only form follows function through structural integrity but mate-rial must also meet the physical and intellectual goals of truthful design. Truthful design that becomes the definition of beauty. Its just stark white walls or the close cousin of conceptual art but also a way of organizing ones life and possessions in the clearest and simplest way possible. Then the mind is free to conceptualize.
