OCTOBER- COOPERATIVE PROGRAM MONTH
It is that time of year again- school has started and it is time for many chil-dren's ministries to also start back up. Bible drill is one of the ministries available for children and youth. This program encourages students to hide God's word in their hearts through memorization of verses, key passages, and books of the Bible. Having been involved in Bible drill for several years, I have seen the kids I have worked with use the verses they have learned and be able to use their Bibles more effectively. I would love to share more with anyone that is interested in starting this program in their church or just with your child. Please call with any questions: Michelle Stark 339-7323.

WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT DO YOUR TITHES DO YOUR TITHES DO YOUR TITHES DO YOUR TITHES
AND OFFERINGS AND OFFERINGS AND OFFERINGS AND OFFERINGS DODODODO ????
Through the Cooperative Program, your tithes and offerings start new churches, feed the hungry, advance Christian education, provide disaster relief, promote evangelism, keep more than 9,000 full-time missionaries on the field...and much more.
When you give through CP, your faithful stewardship has a global impact. By pooling resources through CP, your giving goes further.
WHATWHATWHATWHAT IS THE COOPERATIVE PROGRAM IS THE COOPERATIVE PROGRAM IS THE COOPERATIVE PROGRAM IS THE COOPERATIVE PROGRAM ???? The Cooperative Program is the funding process Southern Baptists have used since 1925 to support missions and evangelism around the world. Through CP, the mission of one church is extended to ministries that reach the lost, hungry, hurting, sick and displaced. In addition, it’s how Southern Baptists support missionaries throughout North America and around the globe.
HOW HOW HOW HOW DOES THE DOES THE DOES THE DOES THE
COOPERATIVE PROGRAM COOPERATIVE PROGRAM COOPERATIVE PROGRAM COOPERATIVE PROGRAM WORK WORK WORK WORK ???? It begins with you - your tithes and offerings to your local church. Your church, in turn, gives a percentage of its annual budget to the Missouri Baptist Convention. The MBC invests nearly 60 cents of each dollar in Missouri missions and sends the rest to the Southern Baptist Convention, where CP funds from 45,000 churches are pooled to sup-port more than 9,000 missionaries, six seminaries, ethics and religious liberty causes, and much more.
CP is uniquely Southern Baptist. It’s smart. It’s effective. And it changes lives. How could CP change yours?

September 19, 15 women met from 7 churches for our kick-off event for 2016-2017. The meeting opened with prayer requests, and prayers were offered up for our nation, MMO offering, and personal requests.
MaDonna Maurer was our guest speaker. She along with her husband Ume and three children are missionaries to Taiwan. They formerly lived in China and Korea. Ume is a principal in a Christian school in Taitung City. One of her children was born with a ge-netic disorder that pushed the family to look into special needs services. From there the Lord has drawn them into doing a work for special needs children and their fami-
lies. They started a work called Taiwan Sunshine which is their outreach tool to these families. They are also involved in other outreaches and other organizations.
MaDonna said she her walk with Jesus was like a puzzle, and that Jesus was giving her one puz-zle piece at a time and her challenge was to see how to fit them all together in the direction that Je-sus was leading. Her mother Ann Eckert from the Jamesport Baptist Church was also able to attend and MaDonna’s youngest daughter Megan.
Taiwan is a country that is highly developed and has a high number of foreigners working there. They have only 1-3 percent of Christians. Most of the people worship gods like dogs, sea, wind and many others. In her area their main god is the snake. It is a dark superstitious culture.
Shelly led the devotional from Titus 2:1-8 and Belinda read all the Missionary names that had birth-days today.
The next meeting is Tuesday, October 18 at 10:30 am at the mission center. The focus for that meeting will be Christmas Child.
A carry in lunch was enjoyed by all.
The verse for today is MaDonna’s family focus, it is Luke 14:13-14a. “But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.
Sincerely
Shelly Sims
