Shelter House Client Demographics
•12-17 (But they have siblings & guardians)•Homelessness, chemical dependency, runaway, abuse, poverty, behavioral issues, sexual identity, mental health, educational concerns, developmental issues•Each client has a unique identity and culture•No YOUTH has ONE issue that is a quick fix. With most clients it is difficult to determine what THE issue is.
Shelter House Agency Demographics
•In 2004 we stopped offering therapy as a part of our program.•Short length of stay (Average 6 days)•We are a transitional placement for many youth•Collaborative partnerships with service providers are utilized to help teens and families.•Choice Program•Advocacy and Empowerment is Central to our mission
