Family Portrait Session Brochure

Family life can be so busy, years pass by in the blink of an eye, you start a new job, you move house, your little baby starts pre-school and is soon heading off to University. Capturing that precious family photograph can be a rare thing, one of you is usually behind the camera for starters!

Whether your family is small or large, old or brand new it is important to take some time off, spend some quality time together and capture a collection of images which you can enjoy for years to come.

Your Session

Love, laughter and having fun is what your session is all about. My aim is to capture the most natural images of your family, nothing stiff or stuffy just beautiful true to life images.

Children are always welcome to bring their favourite teddy or toy and if you have a beloved family pet they should come too, after all they are part of the family!

Location, Location, Location

All my sessions are done on location using natural light. The choice of location is entirely yours; it could be your home and garden, the local park or woodland or a special place your family enjoy going together. The only limit is your imagination but if you are struggling for ideas I'd be happy to suggest some beautiful locations.

Time

I never set a time limit on my sessions and I only book one session per day so I’m all yours. I usually advise to leave approximately 3 hours for your session, this may seem like a long time but as they say time really flies when you’re having fun!

What to Wear

Long gone are the days of having to get dressed up in your Sunday best to have your photograph taken, wear what you feel most comfortable and happy in. Avoid clothes with large branding on as this can be distracting to the eye in the final images. If you have picked an outdoor location for your session take your que from the great British weather. If it’s a bit chilly, hats and gloves will be perfect! Don’t forget your feet too, if there is a chance of puddles and mud wellies will be the order of the day.

Your Image Viewing

You will be invited to view the finished images from your session approximately three weeks later. My dedicated viewing room is the perfect setting in which to view your images and browse the beautiful selection of products available. I will guide you through the process of selecting the best images and matching them with the perfect product. Your order will be taken at this time, there is no minimum order value.

Creation and Delivery of your Order

After your image viewing you will be sent a confirmation of your order and an invoice, once full payment has been received your order will be processed. Your order will be available for delivery approximately four to six weeks later.

Investment

Family portrait sessions are £95. Sessions for couples are £75. Payment for your session will be taken at the time of booking to secure your chosen date.

I have worked hard to source the best photographic products and suppliers to ensure high quality at every level. All of my suppliers are U.K. based and there is something to suit everyone with albums, multi image frames and a selection of contemporary wall art pieces.

My bespoke designed, handbound albums are the real show stopper product. The perfect way to showcase a larger selection of the images from your session with a choice of leather or linen cover with or without personalised etching. Albums start from £600.

Terms & Conditions

1. BOOKING: The session fee must be paid at the time of booking to secure your chosen date.

2. CANCELLATION BY CLIENT: In the event of the client having to cancel the agreed session date and not wishing to reschedule for a future date then a refund of 50% of the session fee will be made to the client.

3. CANCELLATION BY PHOTOGRAPHER: In the unlikely event of Alison Barton Photography having to cancel and being unable to agree a mutually convenient date to reschedule the shoot with the client then a full refund of all monies paid will be made.

4. CREATIVE LICENCE: The Photographer shall be granted creative and artistic licence in relation to the photographs taken and poses used. The Photographer’s judgement on photographic style and the number of photographs supplied shall be deemed correct.

5. COPYRIGHT: As is standard procedure, all images have copyright assigned to and retained by Alison Barton Photography, and such images are protected by the Copyright and Design Act 1988.

6. FILE BACKUP: The Photographer will keep multiple backed-up copies of the digital files for 12 months from the session date. After 12 months, the images are transferred to a secure off-site archive storage system and the retrieval of images from the archive incurs a fee of £25.00. The client is therefore advised to order any required products within 12 months of the session date.

7. FORCE MAJEURE: In the unlikely event of total photographic failure, including equipment malfunction or any loss, damage, destruction, theft or accident beyond the Photographer’s control, her liability shall be limited to a full refund of all monies paid. Alison Barton Photography has full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.

8. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE: Please address any complaints to Alison Barton Photography, in writing, at info@alisonbartonphotography.co.uk or 35 Elmwood Road, Stourbridge, West Midlands, DY8 5JL.

9. PRIVACY: The Photographer will carefully store your name and details on a private internal database. Your information will remain secure and will not be made available to companies or individuals outside of Alison Barton Photography.

10. MODEL RELEASE: You are happy to grant the Photographer the right to use and publish photographs taken at your session for the Photographer’s own personal promotion, including her website and blog, Facebook business page, publications including blogs and magazines, portfolios and sample albums, client literature, exhibitions, competitions and advertising. Please feel free to state in writing if you do not want any of the images used for this purpose.
