2018 CALENDAR DATES A BIG WARM THANK YOU TO OUR FYANS PARK COMMUNITY -
WHAT AN AMAZING XMAS FAIR!! Congratulations to everyone who came along and support-ed our major fundraiser for 2018. The weather was on our side and the crowds flocked to Fyans Park Primary School to be entertained with rides, showbags, animals, music and of course Santa in the amazing Santa’s Wonderland. The Great Cake Bake Off was a highlight with so many amaz-ing entries but a special congratulations to Evie H in Prep who was the Peoples Choice award.
We have received very positive feedback from our local community and to the organising committee and helpers we say a huge thank you. To our key organisers Jodie Warrick, Sally Beck and their team who coordinated and managed such a highlight on our school calendar - thank you. We look to have made approx. $28,000-$32,000 for the school which is a fantastic effort and this will go to support our students and the educational opportunities that they have at Fyans Park Primary School.
We say a big thank you to our sponsors -

ASTHMA / ALLERGY / ANAPHYLAXIS ACTION PLANS
If you indicated on your child’s enrolment form that they experience asthma, allergic reaction or anaphylaxis, or they
have been diagnosed since then, government legislation requires you to provide us with a current Action Plan (see
examples below). Please visit your medical practitioner for an up to date Action Plan and return in
prior to the start of Term 1 2019.
https://www.asthmaaustralia.org.au/vic/about-asthma/resources/victorian-action-plans/victorian-
asthma-action-plans
http://www.allergy.org.au/health-professionals/ascia-plans-action-and-treatment
Please ensure your child has their medication and any other device (eg. spacer) with them to better manage their
symptoms. If your medical practitioner has informed you that your child has grown out of their
condition, they will need to provide a letter, on the Medical Practice letterhead, to the school stating
such.

What a night! We hope you and your family and friends had a wonderful night at the Fair. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. We can’t thank enough, all of you who volunteered to help set up during the day, run the stalls and pack up at the end of the night. Thank you to our amazing teaching and administration staff for your support organizing our student activities, helping with the set up and run the Fair on the night.
The Fair is an important fundraiser and great night for the school community to celebrate the end of anoth-er busy year and welcome in Christmas. The money we raise makes a significant contribution to all the building and learning projects underway in recent years. This includes contributing to the fit-out of the new 3/4 building, perimeter fences, resurfacing of the school oval, new classroom readers, fans and blinds for the Multi-Purpose Room and upgrading playground equipment, plus much needed literacy and IT resources.
The Great Cake Bake Off We were overwhelmed with the quality and enthusiasm of all our cake bakers this year. Our judges had such a hard time assessing over 100 cakes. Congratulations to everyone who entered.
The winners were:
Thank you to our sponsors Thank you to our school families and businesses for your generosity and continued support of our Christmas Fair. You provide the financial base to kick-start the event and we greatly appreciate your vote of confi-dence in the event and commitment to Fyans Park.
Passing the baton Thanks to all our new committee members this year who got involved. We are looking for a small team of 2-3 people to take on the coordinating role for the Fair. There is a lot of support and many systems and pro-cesses in place and there is a great team to work with. If you are interested please talk to Jan in the Office.

School Holiday fun! Book in today!!
Hi Families,
WOW! Where has the time gone? It's not long now til the end of the year, when we'll say a fond farewell to our fabulous grade 6 students and an exciting hello to our new preps! As the year comes to an end I would like to remind all parents to please check your accounts and please ensure that everything is up to date, I will be having a week or 2 where I will be having an enrolment drive within the service to assist anyone with enrolment to the service and to update your accounts. I look forward to catching up with you all over the coming weeks. To assist with this feel free to call me on 0452 247 130 to book a time that best suits you.
These past couple of weeks have been busy in OSHC as we have been getting ready for Christmas and end of year celebrations. The preps are all excited to be moving up to the 1-2 department with the chil-dren all speculating as to who their teachers will be for next year, there has been a lot of conversation also about which teachers will be in each department with some interesting changes in the mix. The chil-dren have been quite busy making Christmas decorations and presents for their friends and family as well.
We endeavour to ensure that all the information that you have provided us with in your enrolment is true and correct, if there have been any changes, address, contact phone numbers or people that you allow to pick up your children, it would be great if you could let us know ASAP. These are crucial details that we need to ensure that your child/ren's emergency contact details are up to date, if any of these changes have occurred recently, please jump online and amend the details and please also let me know so that the details I have are correct as well.
If you know that your child will NOT be attending a session they have been booked into PLEASE ensure you give me a call to let me know, so that I am not chasing up children that are safely with their care-giver.
I encourage you all to enrol your child/ren with us in case of emergencies that are beyond your control to ensure that I have access to your child’s details if needed. To enrol your child/ren go to www.campaustralia.com.au.
Cheers & Keep Smiling
Jodie & Dawn
