Hebrews 9:14 says, “How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the Living God.”You serve the Living God! What a humble reality that we all are called to serve the King of Kings, Himself. We get the opportunity to serve the living God that gave us our eternally unblemished life! I cannot think of a better motivator to have a life of service than to know we serve our glorious Eternal Father. John 12:26 says, “Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am my servant will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me.” God honors us when we offer our service to our Living Lord. Now that is a humble thought that God would honor or reward us for our service to Him, when we are serving Him based upon Him saving us! Our honor that God gives us is when other people grow closer to Jesus through our service. Our honor God gives is when we have the opportunity to walk up to see Jesus face-to-face one day. How, then, can we serve the lord?Matthew 20:27-28 says, “and whoever wants to be first must be your slave- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” When we bow down to serve others, we stand up for Jesus Christ. What is our philosophy to serve others here at FBC?1. We serve God by Serving Others wherever

we are and whenever we can. What is our strategy to serve others here at FBC?A. Serve Others Inward. (Inward is defined as the

church body) a. We serve inward by finding (1) ministry within

the church to serve (1) hour a week. We can help you find a ministry that fits your God-given spiritual gift, your passion, and your ability.

b. We serve inwardly by caring for our fellow faith family each of us become aware of other’s needs.

B. Serve Others Outward. (Outward is defined as the world around us)

a. We serve outward by looking for people wherever we are that need help.

b. We serve outward by joining in the church’s strategy mission’s partnerships. We have a four-pronged approach to our partnerships modeled after Acts 1:8.

i. Local-we strategically serve other organizations within Fayetteville to strengthen our community, as well understand we spend most of our time in our local community.

ii. State-We seek out ways to serve others in the state through our annual state-missions offering, as well as travel across the state to serve in intentional missions trips.

iii. National-We seek out at least one national partnership with a local church body to build the name of Jesus in their local community, as well as give to the annual Easter (NAMB) offering.

iv. International-We continue our partnership with Tejutla, Guatemala as we go and serve their local community and reach out with the Gospel of Christ. We also support our global work through missionaries all around the globe with our annual “Annie Armstrong Offering” during Christmas.

There is a way for everyone to be involved in this four-pronged approach to fulfill God’s strategy. We call all be prayer warriors that commit to pray for these partnerships. We can all financially support others to go and carry out the work on the ground whether state-wide, national, or globally. We can all bring items that are needed for each trip that are particular to our trip up ahead. I see the movement of God growing when His people continue to be serious about serving others with all their heart. After all, we are all called to love others as we love ourselves….some neighbors just happen to be around the globe. Whether we serve our church body inward, or serve the communities outward all around the globe, we serve others intentionally and serve with a heart of prayer being source of direction as we hear and serve our Great God!

To My Faith Family, I am so grateful for the love and concern shown to me during my recent surgery and continued recovery. The prayers, cards, hugs, food, and encouraging words have been a special blessing. God is so good! Love, Linda Hancock

Dear Faith Family, Words….tears….thank you’s will never be able to convey our deepest gratitude to you all for holding our hands through this trial with our son in Afghanistan. When at our lowest, your prayers were at their highest. So many answered prayers have woven their way into this season’s tapestry. Thank you for praying and for giving! The donations you made to send to Zech and his platoon overflowed the room. There were many times these men gave up hope….and then prayer, a package, or a note telling them to hang on would arrive. That, my friends, is love in action. We are undone over the way our Father has blessed us through your loving hearts. With increasing love, Sherman and Laura Wiggin
