Noteworthy Police Work
Lt. Bloch recognized Officer DeAngelis and Officer Quiles for their proactive enforcement that resulted in the arrest of an individual for drug sales. They seized 200 grams of marijuana and over $2,000 in cash.
Lieutenant Cain of the Connecticut State Police recognized Fairfield Police officers for their assistance in stopping a reckless driver on I-95. Our officers deployed stop sticks and assisted in the arrest of the driver.
The manager of the Pequot Yacht Club sent a letter thanking our Marine Unit for their participation in the PYC Southport Harbor Safety Drill.
Sgt. Zdru recognized Officer Quiles for his work in apprehending two suspects in the process of committing a burglary. Officer Quiles had responded to a burglar alarm, observed a male exiting a window. There was a second subject also involved. He pursued both on foot and was able to take them into custody.
Sergeant VanDerheyden recognized Officer Wilkie, Officer Zerella, Officer Wells and Officer Wikman for their work in locating a subject who had just stolen $400 in cash from the Jennings Beach guard shack.
A letter was received thanking Sergeant Riendeau, Sergeant Paris, Officer Burke and Officer Mazzocchi for their quick and efficient investigation into a missing person complaint.
On June 9th members of the Fairfield Police Department participated in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run. The run comes through Fairfield on the Post Road and makes a short stop at Sherman Green..

On June 10th several members of the Fairfield Police Department along with First Selectman Tetreau and State Senator Hwang participated in the annual Juneteenth Parade in Bridgeport.
On June 14th, members of the Fairfield Police Canine Unit accepted a donation to the canine program from Dr. Janice Duffy of Norwalk Veterinary Hospital and Sue Gabriel. This was for their assistance with the Animal Nation Fundraiser conducted in April.

Patrol 17-20899 | 2:50 PM | Investigation | Vaspasiano, A | Peoples Bank /Black Rock Tpk
Multiple Patrol Officers assisted Detectives after a Skimming Device was located on the People’s Bank ATM.
• The interior ATM Machines located inside the ATM Vestibule were compromised. • Surveillance was conducted and the incident is under investigation. .
17-21808 | 12:35 AM | Burglary | Quiles, R | 00500 Algonquin Rd
ECC received a report of alarm activation at the Brooklawn Country Club Pool House
• Sgt. Zdru and Off. Quiles arrived and discovered two male suspects inside the building • The two male suspects ran out and Officer Quiles was able to catch up to the suspects
and take them both into custody. • Both suspects were in possession of knives; one more than 4” in length • Both suspects were charged with Burglary, Trespass and Possession of a Deadly weapon. • One suspect had multiple outstanding warrants that were served at FPD.
17-23631 | 6:10 PM | Assistance / Ct. State Police | Kaesmann, E | 00001 I95 North Bd.
State Police Troop G reported a reckless driver on I-95 in Fairfield traveling in the northbound center median divider. Officer Colwell located the vehicle on I-95 in the area of Exit 21 with the vehicle's left side tires riding on the Jersey barrier (off the roadway).
• Off. Colwell attempted to stop the vehicle with Officer Kaesmann following behind. • Sgt. Paris deployed stop sticks and spiked the right side tires of the vehicle. • The vehicle came to a stop and again accelerated forward into the open door of a State
police cruiser. • Fairfield officers assisted State police in removing the suspect from the vehicle and
taking him into custody. • Officer Sudora, Certified Drug Recognition Expert observed the subject in the emergency
room and conducted follow up drug testing once the subject was transported to State Police Troop G.
17-23336 | 2:59 PM | Armed Robbery | Fuller, E | 90 Roberton Crossing
ECC received a report of an attempted carjacking involving two suspects at Woodfield Village on Easton Turnpike. The victim reported he refused to turn over his car keys and the suspects fled the scene in a dark colored sedan.

• Trumbull Police reported a carjacking in their town several hours earlier with similar suspects. Patrol Officers responded to the Easton Turnpike area and searched for the armed suspects and a dark colored vehicle.
• During the course of the search , Sergeant Riendeau initiated a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle of similar description in Stratfield center, on scene investigation determined that the individuals responsible for the robbery were in the vehicle and they were in possession of a facsimile firearm.
• One Adult and One Juvenile charged with Robbery and other related charges. 17-23910 | 2:45 AM | M/V Stop - Narcotics | DeAngelis & Quiles | Tunxis Hill Rd/Villa During the course of a M/V stop, Off. DeAngelis observed contraband inside the vehicle and Off. Quiles acquired an admission from the operator of his ongoing drug sales.
• Two bags of Marijuana were discovered in the vehicle, along with a scale, baggies, and cash. Further investigation revealed additional marijuana and cash at his home.
• Suspect charged with multiple Drug and Intent to sell charges. Patrol officers responded to two separate untimely deaths, both were turned over to the Detective Bureau and under investigation as suicides.
