• Make your profile private• Don’t list your birthdate (at least the

year), school, workplace, town etc.• DO NOT put your phone number• Limit your personal statement, you don’t

want strangers to feel that they “know you”

• Never accept an invite on Facebook, if you plan to go speak to the host(ess) in person

• Don’t tag your photos• Only allow friends access to view

pictures and prevent them from downloading photos (they can ask for copies)

• Be careful about the apps that you add

• “We keep track of the actions you take”• Information set to “Everyone” may be

accessed by everyone on the internet and may be imported/exported by anyone without privacy limitations

• We can’t guarantee that unauthorized persons won’t see your site or that information you share won’t become public

• We keep copies of everything you share, it can also be copied and stored by other users

• Visiting Facebook-enhanced applications & websites you make your info available to someone other than Facebook

7Reporting Problems using Facebook’s Help Center

Facebook provides you with instructions for reporting any inappropriate content in a variety of ways, but telling

a trusted adult will likely help you get results faster.
