CONDUCT OF Of 2019 QUARTERLY NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILLS (NSED)

1. Pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 140, s. 2018 issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and OUA Memo#12-0119-0083 herein attached dated 14 January 2019, all schools are hereby directed to conduct the quarterly NSED on the following dates;

2. The School Heads thru the School DRRM Coordinators shall coordinate w ith the Local DRRM Council for the conduct of the activity and shall submit t he 1 page report as herein attached 4-5 days after the conduct.

3. As per Division Memorandum #82, s. 2018, al l reports from the elementary schools within the district shall be submitted to the District DRRM Coordinator who will be in charge of the collation/consolidation of data; while reports from the secondary schools shall be submitted directly to the division office on or before the set deadline. Please refer to attached NSED template.

CY 2019 QUARTERLY NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILLS

In connection with Memorandum No. 140, s. 2018 issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), offices across all levels of the Department and Schools are enjoined to participate in the 2019 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drills (NSED), with schedule as follows:

3rd Quarter 08 August 20 19 Onnoc City, Leyte 4th Quarter 14 November 2019 Calapan City, Mindoro

The objectives of the Quarterly NSED are:

1. To evaluate the awareness and readiness of learners and DepEd personnel to earthqufikes; and

2. To evaluate the coordination and communication mechanisms during evacuation procedures and response.

Proper dissemination and post-activity evaluation of said drills offices are advised to make necessary preparations to ensure that submitted on time. (Please see Annex "A" for Submission Report
