    An Army Fighting for Social JusticeThis gallery explores The Salvation Armys commitment to working with the socially disadvantaged, which began with rescue work amongst Londons prostitutes in the 1880s and expanded to include hostels, maternity hospitals and childrens homes.

    A Persecuted ArmyThis gallery explores the opposition to The Salvation Army as it expanded in the 1880s and 1890s, from groups including The Skeleton Army. The Salvation Army was also expelled from Russia and China, and officers were interned during the 1939-1945 war.
