Salvation History
You are, no doubt, familiar with the various branches ofhistory people study. US History, Georgia History, WorldHistory, and European History hardly begin a decentlisting of the many ways people have been taught aboutthe history of the world and of various subject matters. I want to introduce one category of history that is not oftentalked about-and you will not find many classes inschools or universities by this title. This classification ofhistory is something you should know about andcherish. The branch of which I write is called, "SalvationHistory." Salvation history reveals and studies God's personalredemptive activity within human history. All salvationhistory points to God fulfilling His eternal saving intentionsto all.
Salvation history begins just moments after Adam andEve's sin distorts the harmonious relationship betweenthemselves and God. Salvation history continues throughevery action God has taken to reconcile every createdbeing to Himself. The Bible is the record of a major portion of salvationhistory, but please do not miss these important points:
Salvation history continues after the last pages ofthe Bible and will continue to unfold until JesusChrist comes again to fully establish the Kingdom.
God worked in the lives of our ancestors to redeemand reconcile as many as would to Jesus throughsalvation. Those who have influenced and led us toaccept Jesus are part of salvation history.
You and I are part of salvation history, too. God isworking in us in personalized ways to turn our
hearts toward Him and for us to accept Hisinvitation to new life.
We play an important part in continuing salvationhistory. We are like athletes running the next portionof a relay race. We are part of God's plan tointroduce and shepherd others towardreconciliation in Jesus Christ.
This week's scripture lesson will touch on how "Godworks in us to will and to do for God's good pleasure"(Philippians 2:13). God's good pleasure-God's ultimatewill-is to see all humanity restored to harmony with Godand each other. Thankfully, we are not expected to please God byourselves. Look inwardly at how God is working in you toalign your pleasure with God's pleasure both in yourdesires and in your actions. While you are thinking aboutthat look around and see how you fit into the grand andglorious branch of salvation history.
School Supply Drive

All supplies will be donated to Foster Family Support ofMiddle Georgia, the foster closet that PUMC has beenpartnering with.
Donations can be brought to church office or placed inthe cart by the sanctuary on Sunday.
All school supply donations are needed by Sunday,July 21!
Children's Summer Movie MorningTuesday, July 23 The Children's Department is going to see WonderPark!
Meet at the Houston Lake Cinemas at 9:30 a.m. $5 per child covers the movie, concessions and lunch.
Pickup at 12:30 p.m. at Dairy Queen by the theater.
We ask that parents stay with kids younger than 4.

Those who are pre-registered, please meet at the churchat 9:30 a.m. We will be going to the Macon Outreach toserve lunch in their soup kitchen. Pickup will be at 12:45p.m. at the Youth Center.
Tuesday, July 23Summer Bible Study
Join us for our final Summer Bible study from 6:30 p.m. to8:30 p.m. at the Frees (211 Walton Chase, Perry). Please bring your Bible, swimsuit and towel.
Methodist Children's Home Picnic The United Methodist Men are sponsoring a picnic atthe Methodist Children's Home on Saturday, July 27 at5 p.m. .Everyone is invited! We will be grilling hamburgers and
hot dogs. Donations of desserts would be greatly appreciated. Please bring your desserts to the kitchenby 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Prime Time Luncheon Thursday, August 112 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall $7 per person Menu will be Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes with BrownGravy, Steamed Cabbage, Congealed Salad andLemon Chess Pie. Program presented by members of the MissionCommittee about their latest mission trip and how God isworking in Subriana, Honduras.
