The initial shot we used was an over the shoulder shot- this immediately put the audience in the position of character A, Almost like a point-of-view shot

Page 3: Explanation of our shot choices

The next shot was a long shot down the corridor. We chose to use this as it would show that the character A is walking from distance to her destination and gives a good effect.

Page 4: Explanation of our shot choices

The next shot is a close up of the character A walking down a corridor, from a side perspective. She looks up and down and sighs, showing impatience.

The next shot includes an over the should shot which continues into a low angle shot...

Page 6: Explanation of our shot choices

... From the previous over the shoulder shot we get a display of match-on-action from a low angle shot, then moving onto a medium shot of the character A reaching for the door handle and opening the door.

Match-on-action continues as the character opens the door from a medium shot

Page 8: Explanation of our shot choices

The shot fades in from black, revealing a medium shot facing the character A’s back looking out towards the room.

A medium shot of character B as she sits at a table ‘asleep’, character A takes a seat.

These scene shows match-on-action, continuity and the shot-reverse-shot technique. It is also a display of the 180 degree rule in filming.

Here is another display ofmatch-on-action. Character Agets up from her chair, the shot smoothly carries on filming as she walks to the other end of the room and finally exits it.
