Your commitment Reporting to the Academic Manager, Foundation Program, the English as a Foreign Language Instructor will work in a team-based environment to teach classes and develop classroom materials. The Instructor may also participate in the design of appropriate classroom curriculum for students with differing levels of English proficiency. S/he may deliver direct instruction to individuals and small groups and assign work which students complete on their own. The instructors will be responsible for evaluating and assessing students' performance and for making appropriate course changes. The English as a Foreign Language Instructor will also keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond. Your qualifications A Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL/TEFL/TESL from a recognized institution, in addition to teaching experience and a thorough knowledge of Teaching English as a Foreign Language, is required. International experience teaching English for Specific Academic Purposes would be a definite asset. Knowledge of and current examiner certification in IELTS examinations is considered an asset. Instructor training and experience teaching at a post-secondary level are definite assets. Expertise in curriculum development is desirable.
