I am writing today about a wonderful opportunity to recognize a Teacher and/or Student in your school for something you and your team deem extraordinary.

The 16,000 Kansas Masons, 210 Kansas Masonic Lodges, The Grand Lodge of Kansas AF&AM and the Kansas Masonic Foundation have generously supported Kansas Public Schools throughout our rich history and today fund more than $500,000 annually in statewide educational programs. Our commitment to Kansas Schools and our kids is unparalleled.

This program was developed to recognize a teacher and student for something exemplary; a random act or careers worthy of achievement. Last year we recognized over 200 teachers and students statewide and we have set a goal of one teacher and student in every school in Kansas. With your help we can achieve that goal.

This year we have partnered with the Kansas Masonic Literacy Center at Emporia State University to recognize students who participate in the Kansas Mason’s Discovery Book Club and who improve their reading level by 100 or more Lexile Levels with an Exemplary Student Award.

Please complete the attached application and mail or e-mail back to me. We will designate the closest Kansas Masonic Lodge to your school and have them set up a convenient time for the presentation. However, we have included a listing of all Kansas Lodges so if there is a specific Lodge that you would like to make the presentation please let us know.

There is no “time limit” on when the application can be submitted, however, we ask that you submit it three weeks prior to your requested presentation date.

Each year, local Masonic Lodges across Kansas honor outstanding students with
