I love fashion because I want to be a designer when I am older and I want to make clothes for people and put new fashion in shops and over the world. I

think fashion is important because if it was not made we would have no clothes and I enjoy fashion very much. In year 10 we did a show called 'Switched' and I was the costume designer for women.

I design a lot of clothes on paper also I very much enjoy fashion. I love shopping

very much and I love looking at different clothes and I wish that I was rich so that I could buy many clothes. I love the different colours and I love clothes with interesting patterns and lots of different colours in the costume

not like boring colours and no affect on the costume.

What is fashion?

• Fashion is not just clothes it can be hairstyles, make up, Jewellery, bags,

coats, shoes, body art, beauty. Fashion is form of art and design but on clothes. Fashion designers attempt to design clothes which they put on

materials, colours, patterns and styles to choose from.


• In fashion you need to have good skills in fashion like fabrics, colours and shapes also developing patterns. Fashion got so popular in the 19th

century and fashion was change to now.

What is clothing made from? • In fashion they used fibers to make costume. • Cotton is used for making jeans, t-shirts and towels.

• Linen is used for summer clothing, tea towels and tablecloths. • Cotton is a plant that you can use on clothes, and wool and silk come

from animals the sheep and worm. • Wool is used for jumpers, suits and blankets also it is warm to wear in

winter time. Silk is used for evening wear and ties.

What fashion can be inspired by?

• Fashion can inspired by different religions, it can be about the environment, and be environmentally friendly.

• The history of fashion can be different across cities, cultures and

countries. • Movie stars and pop stars promote different fashions. Lots of people

decide what they like and are influenced by moviestars and popstars. For example Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Women in the 18th century

• Rich women can have rich dress with patters and wealthy colours. In the 18th century fashion went very popular and women had the wear long dress. The hooped dresses was very popular for woman but the dresses were more low-cut


than previously. Women wear the dress very long and not allowed to wear short dress at the time.

Men in the 18th century

• Rich men wear rich they can get different clothes like three-quarter-length

coats and breeches. Wigs, high-heeled shoes (worn by men and women in 18th century). Also men can be fashionable but poor people can not get lot of clothes at 18th century.

About the fashion in the 18th century

• The outfit represents a man from the Tudor times, who looks as if he was a wealthy man, as he is wearing a robe. Colours and materials would be worn depending on their class. The clothing represents him being

someone from a higher class. • The clothing that he is wearing tells us that he could be a king. During

these times your fashion indicated your status. The character I have chosen is well dressed this shows that he is a man from a higher class.


In the 19th century • In the later 18th century women adopted a more loosely fitting dress,

know as chemise. Chemise is to make women very skinny but it was very

hard to brief and many women was killed over this but it was inspired by the fashions of ancient Greece and Rome. In 19th century the fashion was

different and the women put more colours in the dresses. • Men wore knee-length breeches were replaced by ankle-length trousers

and the fashion went very fashionable at the tine when before. Women

dresses was bit short when before and the dresses are not that open also more colours when before.

• The women dresses are high- wrist and men clothes look very rich when

before men wore the regimental uniform. Clothing was classes as wealthy

during this period became more style and colours.

In the Late-19th-century • In the late 19th century hats went very popular at the time for men and

women. Top hats as worn in the 19th century for men and women worn

small hats, bonnet Hats.


The 1940s war era

• At 1940s there was world war 1 and world war 2 and the fashion was very less for people at the time. In the clothes it was not lot of colour or patters over the war. In the 19th century the clothes was cotton when the

materials was silk.


The women in the 1940s

• Women dresses went very short up to the knee-length and they wore blouse and skirt. Mackintosh coats were popular for 1940s because over

the world war and its outdoor items for the cold also the war.

The men in the 1940s

• In the 1940s the fashion for men was not that popular at the time because over the world war 1 and 2. Jumpers, vests and polo-neck shirts were less popular at the time. But jackets was popular for men and

women.


Clothing in the 1950s • The clothing was very musical and very the dresses for women was very

colorful and the dress is short up to the legs but not that short. While the

fashion was very different the "Teddy Boy" was very popular this time. But all of them look up to Elvis Presley the king of rock that made this

fashion for men.

Women in the 1950s • Women in the 1950s wear a full-skirted dress with underneath and the

dress was very fashionable to women.


Men in the 1950s

• Men in the 1950s wear a tight fitting jeans or trousers and a long smart jacket with a tie. Also men often wore their hair in a quiff like Elvis Presley.

• The 70s pop group were famous because people was wearing the same clothing as them and following them.

Clothing in the 1960s In the 1960s the fashion was different when before and this period was very happy and this fashion was made for peace and love at this time. The clothes

was very colourful and had lot of different pattons. People would wear colourful flowing clothes, peace and free love.


Women in the 1960s

• in the 1960s women wear a mini-skirt that was very fashionable in 1960s to women because before in the century 18th the women have to wear

short dress but now in the 1960s the women wear mini-skirt. Also women wear boots for up to the underneath.

Men in 1960s • In the 1960s men wear long jackets and very colourful shirt with pattons.

But jeans was very popular for men at the 1960s. Patterns and bold colours became popular for fabric.

Clothing in the 1970s

• In the 1970s women and men wore trousers called Flares it was very

poplar at 1970s.


Women and men in 1970s • In the 1970s women would wear a maxi-dress and the dress was very

long but different when century 18th to 1970s.

• In the 1970s men wear shirt with collars and platform shoes.

What people wear now • But now people wear what ever they want to wear and in very clothing

there are colours and pattons but some clothing there is no colours or

pattons if the designer don't want that in their designs. Some people look up to pop-star or movie-star and followed their fashion like Michael

Jackson and Madonna. Also people see models with different designs and they want to wear the designs.


Michael Jackson fashion

• A lot of people love Michael Jackson's fashion because he was the king of pop and his fashion was so different to others and very unique.

• I would like to point out how Michael Jacksons fashion started from

immortalised solitary, socks and sparkly gloves (Billie jean) which is very unique and he idealised for trophy jackets. Also he made one single glove

and everyone followed the king of pop. Michael Jackson fashion was popular for 50 years to everyone.

Madonna fashion

• The queen of pop Madonna's fashion was very popular in 1980s and she showed her in fashion on her music videos. Everyone looked up to

Madonna fashion and I would like to point out how Madonna fashion started from a black tank top, mini-skirt with shirts and coats and more shirts.

• She made new hair styles for women dirty bleached blonde hair. She made different accessories like necklaces, bracelets, pearls and beads.

Her earrings was long and dangous but she always religious symbols like the crosses.

• At November 4th 201 0 she showed her new fashion called thigh-high

boots and its black boots with pattons and the boots are very tight.

very creative person people thinks she would be the next queen of pop. Some people like her style but some people don't like her style because in

her videos its too different and very bad to watch. She wear glasses and they are around also she made it that's why her style is very different and great to see. Many fashion people wear her clothing. Lady gaga clothing

can be very bad to see because she made costume out of meat and people find out of bad to watch.

Rihanna • Rihanna getting very different in her videos and her clothing like lady

gaga and Michael Jackson and her clothing is very different and very creative. Rihanna has a red dress that she made and it is very creative with roses on the dress. Her clothing is very colourful and she put lot of

• Kesha is good pop star but she wears different clothing and she loves

wearing something different. She change her the hair style, her makeup and her clothing. Lot of people likes her music and think her clothing is

• Katy Perry always changing to many clothing and she always pop star.

Bella Swan:

A deep blue blouse that she wears with Edward at dinner in the movie and the long skirt and jeans that she wears by meeting Cullens family. The Lacydress it was blue and short from the legs but not that short and Stiletto heels for the

prom. Bella is very shy girl and she don't wear beautiful clothes she wears normal clothes but in her clothes it's not lot of colour or patterns in her clothes.

She stunning when she gets dressed up because she is normally doesn't make herself dress up and wear fancy clothes. The contrast between her normal self and her dressed-up self adds to how beautiful she looks. In the movie she wears

green, brown, blue, white but she does wear different colours and her favourite colour in the books and the film is purple. Bella has sort of an edgy yet classy

style and she does like to wear black and grey. In the twilight she wear flowers top sometimes but she don 't wear not lot of patterns also she don't wear skirt


but she always wear jeans. Also in twilight she always had her hair out not up and the movie she always wear blue or green.

Alice Cullen: Alice is always modern and trendy in her fashion choices and she wears lot of

black and white also many more colours like grey, blue, green. But she wears lot of dark colours not that light like pick or yellow because over the story line. She wears lot of navy, with lace, silk or smooth cotton. She wears grey skinny jeans

in the movie and she wears lot of dresses because it shows that she sweet and very nice in the movie. Alice wears her dress with kneelength and flats. Also

when she meets Bella she was wearing a grey dress with black light coat. For party she top shiny red sequined tank-top (from the eclipse graduation party).

Edward: Edward clothes are very old fashion and he is very shy but his old fashion and very elegance. He wears many colours like dark colours like blue, grey and

white. Edward wears grey coat or a blue coat. Edward always wears blue shirt or white or grey top. But he always wears jeans with everything, Edward always

wear blue all the time.


Rosalie: Rosalie wears very elegance and class clothes and she wears a lot of old fashion

jewellery like t his necklace what she always wearing in the movie and many people that is fan of twilight they get this necklace. Rosalie wear lot of skinny jeans and don't wear like long or short jeans. Rosalie loves to wear suits because

she always wears it because she wants to be elegance. The shoes that she wears is high hears she always wear that, also she wears scarf with her grey coat. She

Emmett: Emmett wear lot of sports clothes because he loves sports very much and he

don't wear like old fashion clothes like Jasper and Edward. He wears jeans, sports tops, sports coats and baseball hats. Emmett wears lot of green like his is

Diary entry -project proposal

January 10th

Today I did the project proposal and I don't know what project to do and I was very nervous because I was doing this project all by myself. I did not know what project to do so I was thinking so hard what to do and I pick fashion design

because I want to be fashion design when I grow up so I want to know what fashion is and how it was made. It's important to me in the future; I love art and

design also making new things and clothing. I can learn a lot about fashion so I think this project would be great for me and I can do whatever I want but I don't want to make a mistake on my project so I am bit scared because I want to do

well and not mess up.

On my project proposal sheet I said on it what I want to do on my project and I wanted to do project magazine so that my research can be a magazine I think it would be great. I made a list what I am going to do for my research so I pick

research the history of fashion, different cultures of their fashion, find out what people wear for the summer and winter, what famous people wear and colours

mood board.

Project January 25th

Today I did the project and I was doing fashion design also i think I would do

history of fashion so I look on the computer for different fashion. Also I looked at the dates of fashion like 19th century, 1940, 19th century, 1950, 1960 and many more. I look up on what is fashion and what fashion is inspired by. On my

PowerPoint about history of fashion there is lot of pictures and information about fashion. I learned that many fashion changed in 18th century to 2011 and there

is many fashion because hats was popular now its long earrings. Also long dresses were popular now short dresses are popular.

I think I worked very hard on this PowerPoint and I think I would do well for the project because I put lot of different information about famous pop star like

Michael Jackson and Madonna because they created lot of new fashion and people are very inspired by them. I think fashion is very important to famous people and everyone around the world.

February 5th

Today I did the project and I was doing the modern fashion in different cultures like Japen, India, Africa, Egyptian and British / America. I think that I worked

very hard because I made a list what cities to do and I pick these cites, I think I would make this PowerPoint great for the magazine. In the PowerPoint I pink lot

of different pictures and lot of information about different cultures and clothing. I learned that the clothing is different like the cultures so if you are British you are learned about different cultures and what they wear.

I think I did very well on the different cultures and after the cultures and the

clothing I did what famous people wear I think that was hard because finding


different famous people that was not that easy. But in the PowerPoint I put lot of pictures and information in the PowerPoint. I did many famous people but most

famous people I did was pop star and Mariah Carey, Jessie J, Kesha, Rihanna, Katy Perry and many more. But I did the most fashion pop star that is Michael

Jackson and Lady Gaga and I did much information what they wear and what they are inspired by also what they made. I learned that many pop star don't wear the same fashion and I am inspired by many pop star and many people is

inspired by famous people too.

February 10th Today I did find out what people wear for the summer and I think I worked very

hard and it was very fun find many pictures what out now and putting information I think I worked very hard on this project. I put lot of information

and many pictures and I pick what people wear for the summer like dolls shoes and sometimes long dress with flowers or short dresses but they wear lot of short dresses. I learned that many people wear lot of flowers things in the

summer and they wear sunglasses to see in the summer also sometimes people wear hats but hats are not that popular for the summer.

In the information I put what people wear in the summer, what fabrics t hey

use, the clothing I think I worked very hard on t his. When after when I did the summer I did t he winter clothing and what t hey wear for t he winter. I put lot of information and many pictures about winter clothing. I learned that many

people wear fu r in the winter and warm clothing like cotton and animal fur. Also I learned many people wear dark colours but in the summer t hey wear light

colours. I think I worked very hard on this. February 15th

Today I did research about what people wear now like and in my research I put

what shops people go in to shop and I put what pop star people is inspired by. When I did what people wear for evening wear or party wear or casual wear. I learned does into many shops like new look, Primark, Krisp and many more. I

think i did very well on this and I worked very hard to make it great.

When after the research what people wear I did colour mood board what colours people wear like pink, green, blue, red, purple, orange and yellow. I think I worked very hard on this. The mood board colours don't have no information but

it do have many different pictures about colours. There is a not just picture about colours t here is also colours table like primary colours, secondary colours

and tertiary colours and many more. I have about 2 colours tables for that people would understand what colours are. I learned t hat there are many different colours in the world and I think I did very well on this PowerPoint for

the magazine.

February 27th Today I did many researches on fashion but Mr Bray said we had to make put all the information together on the paper where you got your information from. I

got my research off the websites, books and magazines I think I did well doing the information. So I put all the websites that I went on and put it on the paper.

Also I did the books and magazines.


I think I did well on my research and I think i tried very hard. After when I finish

I looked at my magazine and I wanted to cut out some pictures off my magazine and I cut out many different pictures about fashion and what famous people

wear like Kristen Start, Ashley Tisdale and many more. I cut out different things about fashion like makeup, hair, jeans and what famous people wear. I think I did very well on this and it was very fun cutting out pictures of famous people.

Evaluating summer 1 Of 4

With my first summer design I choose a dress which I wanted to be unique about from other designs by having flowers on my dress, having saying this it would attract my target audience which are girls, girls tend to like flowers as

they reflect on beauty and that's what girls are known more for these days.

The dress is very unique as the bottom of it is just flowers and having just flowers makes the design stand out from other designs, the flowers tend to be all the way at the bottom which also makes it stand out. The Dress starts off

with a popular top line which is called the chest line where the dress starts from the chest.

The fashion status for this dress is popular as girls tend to like to show their legs

allot, the reason why it's just popular it's because other religions won't allow women to show their legs off so doesn't make the dress very popular. The shoes are popular in the summer as their fashionable sandals that go very well with

the dress through the colour coordination which is red.

Evaluating summer 2 of 4 With the second summer design I choose a fashionable short dress which slightly stands out from other designs, the special factor that this dress has to make it

unique would be the colour it stands out form all the other colours which you see in normal summer designs, having talking about the colour the colour

coordination is very strong. The dress is unique as the top of the dress looks like a designer top although

isn't really as it's a dress. The sleeves on the dress for me stand out as their slim as well as the end of the sleeve that's unique because of the shape of it; the

sleeves make the dress stand out. The dresses dress line is similar to the first design as it starts from the chest

of the dress its plain and simple although the colour is stunning! Evaluating summer 3 of 4

With the third summer design I choose a fashionable basic summer modern style shorts and a non-sleeved top although isn't really basic and simple, the reason

why it's unique is because of the really cool design's on the non-sleeved top and shorts the designs are made of sequences which makes the design stand out from others.

The non-sleeved top has a necklace attached to the top which can be easily be

removed and attached back on with two little mini hooks on the shoulder bits of


the design which really makes this design unique. The necklace its self is unique as it's so thick and attached to a dress with a diamond attached to it as well.

The colouring of this design is idle as there are two colours not one like my first

and second design the reason why it's good that the design has two colours is because the colour contrast both colours do match and are popular too girls the colours are pink and purple . Purple and pink are very popular so that's why I

choose them the colours are also on the dolly shoes as well.

Evaluating summer 4 of 4 The forth summer design is a dress as well as design 1 and 2. This dress has allot in common with all 3 designs such as design 1 and 2 has sandals and are

dresses as well, the common stuff design 4 has with design 3 is the design has allot of sequences on it to let the design stand out.

The dress is idolised for the summer especially if you were on holiday and wanted to look good and stay coo l that's the idle dress for that person. The

dress stands out from having flowers on the dress; the dress has 3 main flowers which are good so the dress doesn't looked crumped out like design 1.

The colours on the dress are suitable for the summer which are yellow, orange

and red all of the co lours reflect on summer. The dress line on this dress is different to designs 1 and 2 as it's not a chest line it has straps instead although designer silver straps. The belt that is attached to the dress stands out in the

middle and form other designs as well, the best thing about this design will be the colour contrast with in the design.

Evaluating winter 1 of 4 The first design is very suitable for the winter it's basic with the jeans although

the top is creative as it has fur on it to keep warm. There are many different patterns on the top and jeans with green and yellow strips. The colours in the

costume are blue, green, yellow, bit of pink and bit of purple. I think I put many different ideas to my design and I work very hard on my designs. The boots are very furry to keep warm and on the arms part of the top there is fur to keep the

arm warm.
