The 1st of the month brings Easter greetings to all, ”Buona Pasqua “
It is also time to say arrivaderci to some of our snowbirds. Hope
you will all enjoy good health, good times & get lots of rest so you can come back to us raring to go in late fall.
Keep in touch by accessing the website, emailed Novita & occasional email messages with current updates.
April is shaping up to encourage member participation with a Pot Luck Birthday/Anniversary Celebration
that’s always popular, the Beach Picnic at the Pavilion, always fun, the final video on Sicily Unpacked & the
Appreciation Party for the Feast workers. It may be that Friday Nite dinners will slow down a bit but with the
best food, volunteer chefs & servers in town, the dining room will still be buzzing! You are the best & the
patrons of our Club marvel at this “well oiled” machine! Keep up the good work! Ciao, Bruce
RECENT HAPPENINGS…..
MARIO ’n MARIA’S Wedding! March 11th, 2018
There were 147 attendees, 5 kitchen staff, and 5 bussers. All
actors were IACV club members. Barbara Lorio produced and
directed The Italian Wedding. Kitchen was headed by Helen
Nardolillo, with special thanks to Joe Carbone for his assistance
and allowing use of the kitchen facilities. Bob Houston
managed the bar. Appetizers were passed during social
hour. The entire meal was a typical Italian wedding dinner,
including the thrown sandwiches referred to as a "Football"
Wedding. Cast spent many hours rehearsing their roles which
resulted in a performance well received by all. Accordion music
entertained the guests and Ray Sherman volunteered as the DJ.
The Social Committee thanks all involved in their combined
effort making the evening a tremendous success!
*One of the best events, enjoyed by all! Who knew there
was so much talent in the club! Hollywood, next stop!

For those of you who are very ambitious, you will find the reading order of these books below: English translations can be found on Amazon. Montalbano’s First Case and Other Stories

Sicily Unpacked is a three-part BBC documentary series hosted by
Andrew Graham-Dixon and Giorgio Locatelli, taking us on a journey
around Sicily. In the first part of the series, Andrew Graham-Dixon and
Giorgio Locatelli take us on a journey into the heart of Sicily and
introduce one another to the things they love about the island. Then
exploring the island through each other's eyes and hearts, they uncover
the legacy of Spain's 500-year occupation of the island and the influence
this has had on art and culture. Finally,
Andrew and Giorgio take the pulse of
contemporary Sicily, experience the
change that is sweeping through the
island, and find out how the future of it
is linked to its ancient past.
