Excellence in Education Banquet

Thirty-one years ago, members of the local chapters of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International proposed a plan to the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and school administrators for honoring outstanding graduating high school seniors. Thirty-one years later the Chamber is proud to still host this very important program, Excellence in Education. It is our chance to recognize the importance of education by honoring the top 5% of the graduating classes in Chippewa Falls. These students are our future and we are honored to support their efforts. Join us in recognizing them at a banquet on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Avalon Hotel and Conference Center. Each student has been asked to choose their most influential teacher. That teacher can be from any grade and at any school in the area. The educators will also be honored at the banquet. Please consider sponsoring this event. All

sponsorships help cover the cost of the banquet

meals and gifts for the students, parents and

educators. All sponsors will be recognized at the event, in the Chamber newsletter, on the Chamber website and in all supporting materials. Welcome

New Members Jackie is a "transplant" to Chippewa Falls from Central WI but now considers

these woods her home. Her and her husband Matt, moved here in 2008 to his

hometown. They have two young children, their son Parker(2 ½) and their

daughter Emerson(1). Jackie and her family love the outdoor lifestyle, the four

seasons yes ALL of them, and the pride that comes from a small town. Jackie

has been in the tourism/hospitality field for 9 years and most recently

assisted the Eau Claire area with their tourism efforts. Working not only with

the partnership levels but also marketing, group sales, and grants. She is

passionate about networking and building relationships and working hard to get any job done. Jackie is excited to start this new chapter and work towards growing the economic impact of tourism in Chippewa County.

Note from Jackie: I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to you all,

I am the new Tourism Director of the Chippewa Falls Area

and I am extremely excited to dive in and start

creating some amazing opportunities in our tourism

industry. I plan to meet each of you and/or say hello to

some old friends but before that happens I wanted to just

say hello! Here are a couple of action items I would like

for you to know or assist me with:

Tourism Industry Meetings - Quarterly These meeting will be to educate you

on the efforts of the tourism team, events or group news as well as collectively

talk about what's going on with you and your business. The more we all know

about each other the better we can sell each other, and with that everyone wins.

I will be looking for hosts for these meetings so keep an eye out for that email.

Website - Updates We are in need of great high resolutions photos and I turn to

you the expert of your business and ask for your help. Please send any and all

great shots to me. These will be used on our website and also social media efforts.

You can send them in a Dropbox file or even place them on a zip and I will pick

them up. A fresh look to the website will be great going into our busy summer

tourism season.

Summer Coupons Push We will be creating our new summer coupon push and

would love to include your business. Please send offer along with updated logo to

me by April 14th.

Business Brochure for Visitor Center We want to make sure that we have the

best material to offer the visitors stopping in to see us. Please call or email to

schedule a drop-off or pick-up at your location.

Events I want all your events! If you have an newsletter please email the link so I

can sign up. If you have a listing of all planned events I would love to get that too.

I want for the staff to get events plugged in through the summer so there is

information for visitors to view in the later months.

Zack Anibas is the owner of Wissota Collision & Customs located at 5939 210th Street, Cadott. The Ambassadors helped Zack and his family celebrate the new business with a ribbon cutting. It is a full service collision repair facility and a full line of custom work. Help welcome them to the area.

The Ambassadors visited Heather Marble, the owner of the new restaurant called Blue Marble located at 17255 Cty Hwy X. They specialize in firestone pizzas. Blue Marble is a Chamber Member prospect.
