Examination Preparation Course for Project Management Professional (PMP)
Azad N. Hosein is the founder and principal owner of Microse-arch International, Inc, which was established in 1992, as a regional project management training and consultancy organization.
He is a graduate of Mc Gill University (B.Sc. - Maths. & Computer Science) and from the University of Toronto (MBA – Corporate Planning and Project Management).
He is a former Head of the Department of Management Studies at The University of the West Indies (St. Augustine) and Associ-ate Professor of Management at Florida Atlantic University.
He is a pioneer in the �eld of project management in the Caribbean, in that he conducted the �rst formal training course in Project Planning at the UWI Continuing Engineering Educa-tion Centre in 1994. He also pioneered training in Computer Science in Trinidad in 1970.
Since then, he has conducted over 400 professional training courses in several aspects of project management (including training for all of the PMI Examinations), across most of the Caricom countries, in collaboration with the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) of The University of the West Indies.
He is certi�ed as a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), a Project Management Institute Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) and a Project Management Institute Agile Certi�ed Practitioner (PMI-ACP) by the Project Manage-ment Institute (PMI). He is also certi�ed as a Professional in Data Processing (CDP) by the Institute for Certi�cation of Computer Professionals (ICCP) of the USA.
He has consulted to most of the Caribbean Governments, Caribbean Regional Organizations, and major industrial organi-zations in the Oil & Gas Sector in Trinidad and Tobago and on behalf of most of the International Financing Institutions.
As the Project Management Consultant on the IADB-funded University Restructuring Project, he designed the regional framework for planning, managing and monitoring research, development and consultancy projects across the fourteen countries which are part of UWI.
Mr Hosein has designed a “Performance-driven Govern-ance Framework for the Planning and Management of the Public Sector Investment Programme” which uses a government-wide Portfolio Management Information System, which he now recommends to most of the Caribbean Governments.
He has published extensively, including his landmark paper on “Monitoring and Evaluation in the Public Sector” which is published by PMI, on its website, in three di�erent languages.
He has also published booklets/papers on:
(a) Strategies for Improving the Economic Performance of Development Programmes.(b) A Framework for Establishing a Project Management O�ce(c) Establishing a Governance Structure for improving Portfolio Management in the Public Sector.(d) The Strengths and Weaknesses of Earned Value Manage-ment(e) Using the Logical Framework as a potent tool in Project/Programme Formulation.
