    Learning Review: As part of our annual self review process, we ask parents to complete the attached LearningReview. Self review provides important information for planning and decision making. Please return to school byFriday 27th August.Raffle Tickets: We are pleased to announce the winners of the Quiz Night raffles. Luxury Night For Two Value$250.00 - Serena Moran, Fishermans Friend Value $250.00 - Christine Van Dalen and The Design Store Prize PackValue $365.00 - Geraldine Eagle. Thank you to everyone who supported our raffles. The raffles are part of thetotal quiz night profit of $2,500 approximately.Sausage Sizzle: Last week we held a sausage sizzle on Lambton Quay. It was a great afternoon and our threeKahikatea students did a fine job cooking the sausages. We made a profit of $184.00. We will be holding a follow-up lunch time barbeque at school Wednesday this week. Sausages will be $2.00 each. We will send out sausagesizzle order forms on Monday so the students can pre-order their food.PTA Helpers for the Pizza Night: The PTA would like some parents to help with a few small tidying up jobs afterour Pizza Takeaway Night coming up on Thursday. Thank you.PaperSkin Education at Te Papa: Thursday 19 August the school will be visiting Te Papa for a tapa clothexhibition as part of our technology study on fibre and fabric. Visit times are: Kauri 9.45-11am, Kowhai 11.30-

    1.00pm, Kahikatea 1.00-2.30pm. We will need parent support for our visit. Please let us know if you are to help outon the day. Thank you.Pizza Night: We are holding a community pizza take-away night at CTMS on Thursday 19 August 5 p.m. This is agreat opportunity to gather and welcome the new families that have arrived to CTMS. Please complete theattached pizza order form and return it to the office with cash by 9.00 a.m. Thursday morning.Gardening: Thank you to Fenella (Nadyas mother) for helping the students plant the shrubs recently given to theschool. These will look beautiful as the weather begins to warm and the plants begin to take hold and grow.Swimming: Congratulations to Jack Paine who won his age group at the swimming sports held at Kilbirnie onThursday. Well done to the rest of the swimming team who also participated. Thank you to the parent helpers.Flu Virus: The Ministry of Health reports there has been an increase in the number of people with H1N1 flu virus.If your child is unwell please keep them at home until they have fully recovered. This will help minimize the spread

    of infection within the school. Its also a timely reminder to encourage children to maintain safe hygiene practicesby washing their hands and covering mouths when coughing or sneezing. If your child persists with an infection,please contact your family doctor.Head Lice: We have an outbreak of headlice in Kauri. Please check your childs hair over the weekend.
