In Research...

When researching documentaries I was able to use such services such as BBC I player , 40D ands ITV player, this was simple and easy to request documentaries each site came up with around 100 documentaries also with recommendations for other programs along the side themes. I was able to access program which I would have missed when they were broadcast. Services like this now mean the audience never need to worry about schedules, the audience are in change of the time and day when they watch what they want.

It allows allowed me to take Screen shots like the one on the left to use within my coursework

Without the use of services such as this I would have had only studied documentaries which were on TV area the time of researching and they may not have been targeting the right issue , therefore my research wouldn't have been as targeted as I needed.

In construction...

Within my AS Media course I didn't have the use of Apple Macs and I was forced to produce my project on Windows Movie marker which has limited effects and editing skills , however this year I have really got to understand Apple Macs and can now use them confidently . There are hundreds more effects and editing is a lot my accurate and professional then windows computers.

Construction...

The development of the internet has lead to the audience becoming more vocal to the media industry from example the use of blogging,.I have used blogging through my media coursework as it is a modern technique in which I can produce my work and showcase it to by target audience and they can instantly comment on my work showing direct feedback from the audience in how I tailor my media project to satisfy my audience.

The accessibility to video cameras and the software much like Imovie has changed the market, with basic knowledge and skill anyone can produce a documentary and post it online via a blog or YouTube and their product and views can be viewed by thousands.

I have also used webcams to record my thoughts and feeling in video format instead of clogging my work up with writing, I could then watch this back and collect and reflect my thoughts.

Construction...

Although I was given copyright for the music used within my project a technique which I did consider using was an apple Mac program called Garage Band and made it simple and easy to produce professional soundtrack with thousands of instruments and pattern uploaded into the database , without the use of a program such as this a film marker would have to hire a musically talent band to record a track then have to rent recording studio hours to format it digital. Now this can be done quickly , simply and with minimum skill.

•Overall I use new media technologies to provide with the ease and availability of any archive material in which I want to find for example old documentaries which I had watched in the past and linked well with my project ,Using online services such as 4OD and BBC Iplayer. – providing me with richer and deeper information.

• Online age has seen a huge increase in the use of social networker with teenagers as this is my target market this was a excellent way in within to commutating with them and collect their views and opinions in research and through the construction of my print, so I was able to produce print work which satisfied them most. This would cheap simple and effect and gain inactive response from my audience instead of handing out questionnaires.

Be aware of safe zones and developing media....

When producing my documentary I produced it on a widescreen computer screen which is much smaller then a normal television , I had to be aware how when exported from the Apple Macs they would appear on a normal TV 4:3 , however as technology develops less homes have television this size and are moving towards wider flat screen television in High definition , I took this into consideration and when filming I used my own HD camera , therefore filming in HD would allow it to be shown in HD on HD televisions.

Areas which could be translated into 3D in the future, if I had the technology...

Words could pop towards audience forcing them to read

The audience would feel engulf within the scene like there are partying too.

Words could pop towards audience forcing them to read

3D Technology could be used to make the audience feel involved by the high intensity of the partying and drinking

IMovieWindows Movie Marker

Was able to create millions of effects which add to the atmosphere of the image and what you are connate, allows more creativity in what you are trying to show

More than one sound level so was able to run both diregtic and soundtrack at the same time , and use the Mac to record narration on top.

Overall a more professional outcome can be produced

Windows movie marker has limited effects such as sepia and black and white . This is very limiting

When using movie marker in my AS year , I found that windows movie marker only had one sound level therefore layering could not be done leaving the production looking very unprofessional.

Very hard to use transition such as fade as you cannot alter the time in which it takes to trade in or out therefore you are controlled by the program in stead of proving you with the creative power to produce a film the way in which Imovie does.
