WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES?

I used both the Lasso Tool and the Magnetic Lasso Tool to crop my images so that they were what I wanted for my magazine.

I used the Auto Tunes feature on the Image menu to change the colour of my image once it had been resized.

Once I was finished editing my image I could move on choosing my font for my title. When I had chose it I could add different effects to it to change the way it looked.

The effects that I used allowed me to change my title as I added a yellow stroke around the outside of the text.

When I was finished with the image and the masthead I could use the type tool to add the cover lines and I could use the place tool to put the barcode in the bottom left corner. I also had to add the black background to make the text on the page stand out.

I used the place tool to put the images that I had already edited on Photoshop into the document. Once they had been put into the document I change them to the size that I wanted.

I then used the text tool again to put the word ‘Urban’ from my masthead onto the contents page and I chose a font to have the word contents in and then I placed that into the document as well.

After I had put edited my images to how I wanted it and put the word ‘contents’ at the top of the page I used the tools on InDesign to add the yellow and black lines around the outside of the page and also added the page numbers, the names of the features on the page and the dateline.

For my double page spread I had to choose the picture that I wanted on the left hand side page, edit it in Photoshop and then use the place tool to put it into InDesign.

I also did the same for the second picture on the double page spread which was in the middle of the right hand side page.

On both my contents page and my double page spread I used the type tool to create a box that I could put text in for the two pages. I learned how to use this tool well and how to edit the size and font of the text whilst also making sure that my magazine stuck to my house style.

Once I had edited my pictures and put my text onto my double page spread I could add the title and the subtitle to the page and also add other elements such as the yellow and black lines around the edge of the page and the page numbers by using the tools on InDesign.

When creating my magazine I used Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office Word to help me. My front cover was created on Photoshop and the Contents Page and Double Page Spread were created on InDesign and therefore I learned how to use both tools quite well. I also used Microsoft Office to write my double page article and then I could put it into InDesign and onto my Double Page Spread.
