Recently, Mary Morris Williams contacted us with an invitation for other women to discern how God is calling them to serve their neighbor. In particular, she will be a volunteer at the County Jail for Women. There is already one woman who will be helping, but Mary is hoping to find among our parishioners, another woman to as-sist. Mary is herself a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and has worked with men in the Sate Prison system. The hope is to volunteer one hour, twice a month. During that time there would be short Eucharistic service, similar to the prayers used when visiting the sick. Then a time of teaching on a variety of Catholic topics of interest to the women. If there is a woman in our parish whom God may be calling to offer her gifts in this sort of ministry and might be interested in responding to the call to assist Mary in this work, please contact the parish office and we will forward your contact informa-tion to Mary.
