The reconstruction of the wood processing factory "Jablanica Eko" (former "Termovent" factory) in Medveđa was completed within the project funded by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland through EU PROGRES.

The reconstruction of 4,800 square metres of roofing, 1,800 square metres of flooring, insulation and utility infrastructure provided necessary conditions for the production of wooden pellet, an alternative fuel from the wood waste. The Slovenian Centre for International Development delivered machines and other equipment, so 40 new worker were employed.

EU PROGRES provided support in the provision of draft establishment model for the future company. The draft model was approved by the Municipal Assembly on 5 October 2013.

Improvement of the quality of Life for Roma population The project contributed to increasing awareness of 65 Roma children about the importance of hygiene and education.

RECENT SUCCESS

Reconstruction of the "Jablanica Eko" Factory (former "Termovent")The reconstruction of Medveđa wood processing factory "Jablanica Eko" (former "Termovent" factory) has been finalized and the equipment donated by the Slovenian Centre for International Development and Cooperation has been delivered. The municipal assembly has adopted the establishment act of new company “Jablanica Eko”. By the end of February 2014 the factory the factory employed 40 people.
